Kelly Pavlik vs Andre Dirrell should happen

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Phill-Mitchell, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. Good fight I think, both guys want a title shot but have to earn one, Dirrell obviously with the speed advantage, but if pavlik can make it a fight at all he could probably ko Dirrell with one jab

  2. no its not a good fight. it's an easy win for Direll and he'd probably stop pavlik.

Direll kicked Abraham and Frochs ass. what do u think he does to Pavlik?

I don't think that would end well for Pavlik.

It could be a decent fight, but what makes you think Dirrell wants a title shot?He could have got one, but he ducked Stevenson.

I didn't see Dirrell kick either of their asses

Froch had nary a graze on his face, yet dirrell had a flattened, bleeding nose, big puffy swollen lips, and sore feet and voice box after 12 rounds of sprinting and begging the ref for help

And Abraham knocked that sucker silly and gave him brain damage and made him cry

A Pavlik who can't deal with boxers versus a guy bigger and faster and possibly a better boxer than Martinez.

Oh how Kelly would be lucky to see round 6.

Please, Dirrell ain't gonna' stop KP.

Pavlik is tough, hits hard and Dirrel is risk averse (to put it mildly).

Dirrell by wide UD but he won't take the necessary risks to have a chance at a stoppage.

Dirrell knocks him out inside 8. Too fast and his power is underrated. He would land at will from round 4 until a ko comes or the ref stops it

Who's to say Dirrell does not get hit once hard by Kelly, and then takes a dive. He's done it before.

    Really...when?

  12. take off those brittish bum goggles and see the fights for what they really were.
Abraham was getting DOMINATED worse than ever before. he even got knocked down for the first time. Direll fought a great fight.
then Abraham pulled the ultimate ***** move.
its insane how direll gets talked about for that fight when it is clearly Abraham who was the little ***** in that fight.

i didnt like the way he fought Froch, but he definately did enough to win. Froch got a gift. and we got left with that "youve got to take the belt from a champ" BS.

Unless the white fighter is something very special (Kessler/Froch/Calzaghe level) and unless the opponent is from Africa or an old n!qqa, the black one ALWAYS wins. Direll would win.

i'm ready to see kelly versus anybody good. I think the rust has been shaken off. the thing about it is, luckily every fighter at SMW aren't kelly's stylistic nightmare, really good boxers. he should steer clear of them, at least for the beginning of his assault on the smw division. guys like kessler, abraham, stevenson and less so, froch, are more up his alley. he should try and steer clear of ward, dawson and dirrell.
