Kelly Pavlik vs Arthur Abraham: Who Wins and have his career back?

When fighters stay in front of him, Pavlik is very good. Either him winning a DEC or Abraham winning by KO.

 

I'd like to see one more fight out of Pavlik in the next few months just to be sure, but at this point I'd still make Kelly the favorite.

Pavlik punches straight. Abraham was looping shots last night. As long as Kelly can pull the trigger, get over the ring rust, this isn't hard to figure out.

 

He is in a tough place right now. He simply can't make 160 anymore and if he did he did he would probably lose something going down. Then he has to win a belt and do the nurse job he was doing when he had it before. Miranda was the best fighter he faced and won only because of Edison's fouls. No head butt and AA wouldn't have made it out of the round his jaw got broken in. Also throw in the point deductions for the phantom low blows and Edison afraid to go to the body at all because he was on the verge of disqualification and what do you have?

At 168 he had one win over a guy that was pretty much gun shy and never really did **** at the weight.

 

A few years ago i was picking AA to stop Pavlik late due to Pav hardly having an elusive style himself. These days Pavlik takes it easily and in the same manner that Froch beat AA, his confidence is shot to ****, he needs to move back down to middle, regroup and change trainer.

At 168 this fight would be a much worse ass whoopin' than it would have been at 160. There was a time when Pavlik/Abraham threads were very popular on ESB. If you took the time to check the history, you would find that back then a dozen or so posters described Froch/Abraham perfectly.

I never agreed with that. AA likes the corners and the ropes to much, and that is the one place you should not go with Pavlik. Back when both were undefeated, Pavlik KO8 Abraham. Now, Pavlik KO5 Abraham.

 

HAHAH! KElly Would beat AA! People are strange to think AA could actually get a TKO or KO victory!

Pavlik and Bute are the two guys at 168 I could see actually knocking Abraham out.

 

Me too. I remember watching Abraham/Simon, and thinking Simon was surprisingly similar to KP. One key difference was that Simon had a KO ratio under 50% against club level opposition, but Pavlik has always had a KO ratio well over 80%.

That's important because Simon's jabs often penetrated Arthur's guard and snapped his head back. Kelly would jab poor AA half to death, drive back into a corner and suck the life out of him.
