Kelly Pavlik vs Bernard Hopkins On October 18th

Personally I was shocked by this news, but even at 43 Hopkins is still a better opponent than Williams, Mora, or Rubio.

 

Hopkins by UD or maybe even KO. Pavlik's too one dimensional to not run into right hand after right hand and his pressure gig won't be enough to secure enough rounds even if it lasts the 12.

He also lacks the offensive arsenal to stop Hopkins as he's sloppy and gets off balance when he misses. Hopkins will likely KD him a few times.

If it were any other top LHW, I'd pick the top LHW over the aged Hopkins, but not Kelly Pavlik.

 

haha seriously?.... wow, bad move for pavlik in my eyes.... i agree with amsterdam, even at 43 hopkins is still the superior fighter in my eyes.....pavlik has power, but you cant win with power alone against hopkins.....he's too smart, and pavliks far too predictable, i can see hopkins winning by decision and dropping him in the process......

 

I am taking Kelly Pavlik he has the speed enduarance and power. I can see B Hop landing very accurate counter punches but nothing special. Kelly KO's him in 6 -9 rounds when B Hop is fatigued. I am going to say by a body shot too.

 

So is this fight really signed for the 18th of October? I thought Pavlik was fighting Williams? Anyone know? Anyhow, if they do fight (Pavlik and Hopkins), I may have to go with Hopkins in an UGLY hugfest and boring decision.

 

I dont see Kelly missing with the Jab against B Hop.. The only thing i dont like is B Hop is dirty and alot of clinching and its very hard to look like a good fighter against hopkins. I think its a bad move on Pavlik to fight him i dont think its cause he will lose but because he wont win impressively

 

I cant see Calzaghe rematching Hopkins again. It wouldn't sell. If Bernard was younger though that was definitely a match that should have been redone after the contentions of the first one.

Nope... He has a frame for it so it shouldnt be a problem. Neither of them are pure leight heavy weights.. But it shoudl advantage B Hop at 170. I think B hop better not pull out the race card on this 1 cause he might get beat by another White boy!
