Kelly Pavlik vs Bernard Hopkins On October 18th

I´m a big Hopkins fan but somehow i have the feeling he is too old for a young fighter who brings on the heat. I´d love Hopkins to win this one but somehow i can´t see it. But if i think there would no question left about his greatness.

 

I would have liked to see this version of Pavlik against Hopkins about 6-7 years ago. That would have been a great fight.

This one not so much. Hopkins is really done. He might get Pavlik early with a sneaky right but what seems likely is Pavlik's youth, strength and pressure wearing down Hopkins to where all he does is duck and cover. Probably won't be stopped but he'll be completely discouraged.

Joe is an unbeaten fighter who can change tactics mid fight and then go on a school someone.

Its not hard to fight a gif of someone looking sloppy in a fight especialy if they have had 45 fights your sure to find something to give you a hard on :yep then you can keep posting it up so in some way make your point when it really dosen't do anything but make you sound stupid.

compu box stats prove it

Hopkins total punches 127/468 27 % jabs 11/93 12% power punches 116/375 31 %

calzaghe total punches 232/707 33 % jabs 45/224 20% power punches 187/483 39%

Bhop didnt out throw or out land joe in any round



Pavlik dosent have the skill of joe calzaghe he is quite one dimensional and i think he will struggle with bhop who will try and old man him.

Remember know one looks good against bhop ever period :bart bhop is to negative and makes for a boring fight

 

if hopkins doesnt tire this is a winnable fight....Hopkins has a lot of guile and craftiness and it all depends on how pavlik would adapt i think

Pavlik by KO. Pavlik aint gonna be throwing slaps like slappy, hes gonna be applying lots of pressure with bombs. I can't see Bernard"One punch a round" Hopkins surviving.

 

Pavlik fights more to B Hops pace....this is a winnable fight for Bhop more than people think...go back and watch Hopkins-Trinidad or Hopkins-Tarver and you will see what i mean:deal

 

a) that was a fight with an ugly, ugly fighter
b) you could take 10 seconds of any fighter's bout and make them look crap.

Calzaghe's " technique " has served him well no?

 

oh and in this old thread theres only been one post about hopkins being shot, and even that wasn't attacking kelly pavlik for taking the fight. ESB bias at it's very best.

 

How funny would it be if it were Jones and Hopkins

 

I think i would need an ambulance when this happens because i wouldn´t be able to stop laughing

 

i cant see how people think kelly will do any better then JC did, i am picking kelly pavlik in a close UD but i would not be surprised if hopkins won. its a close fight thats for sure
