Taylor can counter punch very effectively if he decides too. He did so against Pavlik in their 2nd fight.

As for Pavlik being faster, stronger, bigger than Froch. How so? He's certainly not bigger or stronger than Froch. And in terms of hand speed, they are both nothing to write home about. And i would give the edge to Froch in the chin department.

Pavlik was hit with more then twice as many shots by Taylor in his KD and got up twice as fast as Froch did.

First the post you quoted was a wind up for the benefit of Southpaw.

Taylor is a good counterpuncher, I know that. In fact, counterpunching is the reason KP gave for not being able to double his jab in their 2nd fight.

Froch claims he walks around just above the SMW limit. Pavlik stays in shape between fights, but walks around above LHW, and he is taller. I did not see anything all that impressive about Froch's physical strength. It's not like he was man handling JT at will.

And how would you give the edge to Froch on chins? Against a common opponent Pavlik took at least a dozen shots like the ONE SHOT that put Froch on his ass, plus against KP, JT threw in some well placed head butts and elbows. I can't picture Froch eating Miranda's bombs like Skittles the way Kelly did.

Speed? Pavlik has to be nearly as fast handed as Taylor, no matter what it looks like on film. There is no other way to explain the fact that he went jab for jab with Jermain TWICE. Something Froch could not come close to doing.

Taylor couldn't miss Froch with left hands in the early rounds, and Pavlik has a stiffer, more versatile left than JT. Froch's low guard, lack of head movement, and lack of lateral movement make him a sitting duck for Pav's right. Pavlik stops Froch somewhere between 5 and 7 rounds.

Pavlik might be taller but his built is very lean. He doesn't have the type of quick/twitch, muscular type body to fill out well IMO. I think Froch is bigger. He's got that rugged type of body.

And Froch took some thunderous right hands from JT before and after the KD and it didn't do that much. Pavlik does have a good chin also. But the shots he took from Miranda, while big shots, weren't thrown with great leverage as Miranda was always walking backwards and couldn't load up properly.

Hand speed? They are both slow.

Mirandas throws loopey punchs and is not accurate at all. All Froch has to do is give Pavlik angles and Pavlik willnot now what to do. Bhop exposed Pavlik as a one d fighter.

People need to drop that internet myth about the Miranda fight. There was a point in that fight where Kelly took not one, but 3 shots with Miranda coming forward and Kelly just looking at him like '**** you. hit me again."

And ya, okay, Pavlik is taller and naturally heavier, but ya, I guess Froch must be bigger! PLEASE do not tell me you're turning into a frochette.

Boo,please explain to me WHY Kelly is campaigning at 160 ? you've made the point about his size several times, and if he is walking around at LHW he is either well out of shape between fights,or drying down to 160 a la Hatton.Like i've said previously,Kelly is able to squeeze his frame into 160 and this i believe is his advantage. At 168 he'll be the "smaller" man,and will be bullied by Froch.

I'm not a Frochette but i was impressed with Froch after the JT fight. Froch showed a lot. He showed that he's a very rugged SMW. Solid/great chin. Has some power on his punches. But the guy just keeps on coming. If you don't knock him out or don't have the slickness to outbox him and move, he will just keep on coming.

Once you get past the fact that Pavlik is not a Super Middle, which is really irrelevant because none of the current super middle weights can sell tickets or PPVs, this is a VERY intriguing fight. Two hard-nosed knock out artists, roughly the same size with widly different styles, one, Froch, the classic over-confident *******, mean looking, malevolent, then you have Pavlik, the hard working blue collar, blue eyed, puppy dog who doesn't knock you out with one hit, but puts you down with the 4th, the 5th and the 6th, and then keeps punching till you're unconscious. Brilliant move by Arum to secure this fight for Pavlik, it will erase the stigma of the Hopkins fight and is very winnable if Pavlik comes in great shape and fit, also, they should attempt to get froch to come down to a catch weight if possible.
