I would love to see this fight. I know most will pick Pavlik but I'll have to go with Froch here. Froch is an old school warrior who you can never count out of the fight. He often gets outboxed but that's just where he wants them it's part of his gameplan letting his opponent get over-confident in the ring thinking it's easy and then boom!!!! The Cobra strikes and his opponents are looking up at the lights wondering what the **** just happened. Froch by late round TKO would be my pick.:deal

Out of the 13 times Pavlik fought above 160 how many have you actually seen? And, are you aware that Pavlik walks around heavier than Froch?

You seem to make a big deal out of Pavlik/Hopkins. Pavlik had a 101 degree fever one day, and fought Bernard ****ing Hopkins the next. That is a matter of historical record as reported by Thomas Hauser, one of the most respected writers in boxing. Kelly also had an elbow injury that forced him to cut out half his normal sparring as well as the normal strength training routine. The Hopkins fight is irrellevant.

If you want to back your fighter, GREAT. You should. However, the Hopkins fights isn't relevant, and any size/strength advantage is highly debatable.

The thing you should worry about is whether or not Pavlik is just 14 seconds better than Jermain Taylor. The record says he is.

Agree. I wouldn't call them easy, but I certainly wouldn't call them desperately difficult either. Not at all.

Read my post again Boo,i said ".I think Kelly is able to squeeze his big frame and power into 160,this gives him a huge advantage over most other fighters at this weight ".
As for the 101 temp and the elbow problem ,why do we always hear this AFTER a fighter lose's ?
This fight (should it happen) wont get to the 12th rnd.:good

As for Pavlik's pre-fight problems in the Hopkins debacle, the elbow injury was widely reported before hand. Again, it was Thomas Hauser who reported on the bronchitis and its severity. Hauser's word is good as gold, except of course when he reports on Pavlik. In those cases he just pulls stuff out of his ass. At least that seems to be the opinion of the average ESB member.

In any case, Froch is nothing like Hopkins, and Hopkins should not be used as a point of comparison.

Froch is a simple brawler with almost no defensive prowess. No, this fight would not last 12 rounds because no one can take the amount of punishment Pavlik would put on Froch's right eye, and the left side of his jaw bone.

if it wasnt so lopsided i could see the "fever" being a problem....but it was a horrendous beatdown....how many rounds did pavlik win agaisnt hopkins?......styles make fights......froch may struggle against a quick slick boxer like taylor.....but gets in there with a guy that likes to bang like pavlik....i see froch putting pavlik to sleep.

1st fight Pavlik came within an inch of being stopped.

2nd fight was very close imo. Pavlik by a slim margin.

Pavlik is like Froch, but tougher, with a better work rate, a better chin, a better jab, a better defence, a limited ability to dodge punches, more p4p power, some awareness of strategy etc. This fight would be a war, and Froch would get ended around the mid-rounds like Miranda.

The first fight Pavlik was about as close to getting stopped as Froch was against Taylor, and won arguably every other round. Then KTFO Taylor.

2nd was a clear 8-6 or MAYBE 7-5, with an injured hand. Nothing desperate about that.

i totally disagree, froch is tougher, has the better chin, and better heart, and better power.

Pavlik/Taylor II was a ***** to try and score. There were MANY very close rounds. I scored it 3 times and came out with 3 different scores. All in line with the judges.
