Pavlik would hit Carl with thousands of jabs.

Pavlik Wide UD or late TKO.

Froch could catch him with something an KO him....

    Pavlik by KO
Froch would be the = to a club fighter in the U.S.

Impossible to say until we see Froch against a fighter who puts in at least a C+ to B- level performance, IMO.

But...his chin is good enough to take a good couple of puncher. Pavlik is bound to land a lot of jabs and rights, though. I can easily see Pavlik finishing him on accummulation.

But...Kelly's chin is not the best and Froch can bang. I wouldn't be surprised to see him stop Kelly.

If I had to pick a winner, I'd pick Froch by KO...but I'm taking a huge leap of faith on Froch, saying this.

50/50 at the moment, I'd say.

Interesting to see what everyone else says...

How is kellys chin not very good? he took thunderous shots from one of the hardest punchers p4p out there the bigger Edison Miranda, and took Jermaine Taylors best punches and recovered to win, and taylor could hit with that right hand

Kelly does not have the greatest chin, it is not particularly bad. Taylor does not hit that hard, infact since he stepped up in competition he has not been close to stopping anybody.

This could be a problem against a guy like Froch who can hit.

Froch, I believe, is the biggest puncher at 168. I think he hits harder p4p than Miranda. Granted, he does plant his feet to fire away but Kelly's footwork and defence are not better than very good, so I can see Froch hitting him enough to hurt him. I believe Kelly has a less than a very good chin...

i think kelly pavlik would win this one.
IMO carl froch is a little bit to slow, and i dont think froch would be able to take pavliks attack for 12 rounds.but froch is a big dude...it could be a close one,or a brutal KO for pavlik.

i'm a froch fan however at this time pavlik would k.o froch. Froch needs to prove himself a whole lot more, i believe he will be able to beat him in the future if they ever face off.

Yeah...Froch is not the fastest by any means. He also telegraphs his punches quite a bit. But that shouldn't mean he would not be effective; does Pavlik has sufficiently good and fast footwork and defence to avoid the big set-up punches?:think

No he wouldn't. He is not a top level fighter, but you are way off. The US does not have some hugely deep boxing scene like it used to and like you guys all seem to think it still has. Froch KO'd Tatevosyan in 2 rounds, the same fighter who in his bout before went the full 12 with Bute.

He hits hard and has a solid chin. Pavlik could definitely win but Froch has every chance of landing and if he does, rest assured he hits harder than Taylor.

Froch has an ok punchers chance but I see Pavlik knocking his head back with that jab and stopping him mid rounds.

In the past you picked EVERYBODY at 168 over Pavlik. Even the water boy in the corner. :rofl

    I can see that too...

I'm uncertain about this match-up...just don't know whom to pick...we should know by the end of the year, I think. We'll see enough of both by then.

    Everybody? :huh

I picked Calzaghe, Kessler and probably Bute. Andrade and Froch are tricky for anyone...; of course, I was assuming Kelly wasn't taking his time stepping up (that he'd be much smaller than the big SMWs on the night). Mundine might be better overall, possibly, but because of styles, I wouldn't have picked him against Mundine...:think
