I think so...they're only one weight class apart, so it's not that hard to guess, I think. Maybe Froch is only hitting as hard as he does because against the level of opponents he's faced, he's had time to load up; they've also stood there, taking the punch rather than avoiding the flush hits...:think

I only see Kessler and Joe being able to handle Froch at 168 right now. I can't see Froch going to 160 so I'm assuming this is at 168 I'm picking Froch.

At 160 I'd reverse my call.

I wouldn't at this stage because Dawson is much faster and has very good footwork - he could keep it on the outside well enough, I would say. Sure, there's the chin and Froch would definitely have that puncher's chance, but Dawson is just a lot more skilled...If Froch's defence were better, I'd pick him, but it isn't. Dawson would land a lot and that would put Froch off his game, I think.

Still...I'm still unconvinced about Dawson's chin and mental strength. Froch has one big advantage in that he's very aggressive and very positive -it might be enough to break Dawson.:think

    What do you think?

Yes; whom are you picking at 168? Pavlik or Froch, if Pavlik had time to build up?

I guess what this thread proves is that even if we wanted to confidently pick Froch based on his punch, chin and aggressive style, we cannot because he hasn't fought anyone decent enough for us to know how he'd do against someone as good as Pavlik. Last night's fight wasn't conforting as to Froch's defence either...but he said he didn't box because he didn't respect his opponent much...:think

So...Froch really does need to step up, I think. Then all questions will be answered.

I stay out of hypotheticals involving Pav, for obvious reasons.:yep

I just found it amusing that you take Pav over Dawson at 68, but Froch over Pavlik. Nothing wrong with it, only wanted to ask.

I am not convinced by him either, but I'm much more convinced of him than I am of Froch! With Dawson, we almost know what he is all about; not with Froch...

Pavlick's ko. Froch's got a good chin but 50 pavlick right hands landing flush a round will punish his lack of defence

Of course I can, and think of most particular fans of a fighter (aka nut huggers of any fighter) I'm as objective as you'll find. With that said however, particular answers will be construed as those of a nuthugger. So I just set back and watch.:yep

Also it's fair to add that Froch's performance on Showtime yesterday was the first time many Americans had a good chance to see him fight (other than maybe snippets here and there). That was a short fight against a can. (no offense any Rybaki fans). So really still don't know **** about Froch and making any kind of hypothetical prediction would be out of the dark and blind.
