Dawson would be a very difficult fight for Pavlick, but as soon as Pavlick catches him with a right hand it would be all over. Pavlick tko round 10.
Dawson is everything Pavlik needs to avoid. He is better in nearly aspect, and even power is a guess at that weight. The difference might become even greater at 175. Chad looked great on Saturday. He has the size and strength to stand his ground, and his speed and punch arsenal are far superior to that of Kelly. He's also proved he can fight a tough 12-rounder. Dawson has fought a Pavlik (Adamek), but Pavlik never has seen anything close to a Dawson. Dawson TKO 10, after a one-sided boxing lesson.
I was just thinking of this fight last night! If Dawson was still at SMW, it would have much better chances of happening (not anytime soon though) as I can see a lot of fighters avoiding Kelly. Would be a great fight no doubt. Both would probably hit the canvas. Dawson would have to be the favorite but you CANNOT count out Pavlik. Don't car who the opponent is, this guy is DETERMINED to win.
TO me I think Dawson isnt a full fledge LHW, I still think he can make 168 if he wanted to, he has a lean body not 2 muscular, I think most of that weight he is fighting with at 175 is water weight that he could lose to make a fight at 168 happen. If him and pavlik were to fight at 168 I pick Dawson to school Pavlik to a Ud or KO.
I agree that Dawson still could make 168, but I think he'll be better at 175. He was very strong against Mendoza. Speaking only in terms of making weight, it reminds of Roy Jones in the mid-1990s. Roy could make 160 and be fine, but he was a very strong 168. Same deal with Chad, just one weightclass northward.
Gotta go with Kelly here (no surprise:shock: ) cause of Dawsons questionable chin, & no one can argue the fact that his chin has some cracks in it. Dawson may win every round, but KP will keep coming forward until he lands. You know the rest... Can't believe a number of you said Chad by LATE stoppage (round 10). He won't even see the 8th. :bbb
What makes Kelly's odds of KOg Dawson better than those of Adamek? Dawson is a proven commodity at 175. Pavlik is a very good and very tough middle, but now you're talking him about jumping up 15 pounds. And Kelly has been hurt and shown to be slow at 160; as he gets bigger, his punch his likely to diminish.
Dawson was dropped by Adamek so you can't totally write off somone with the heart and ko power of Pavlik, but I see Dawson handing out a lesson here and winning quite comfortably. Pavlik can clean up the middles at the mo because his ownly real threat is Abraham. I also believe that Sturm wont have the balls to face him though I'd like to be proved wrong. Pavlik should stick to middle for the time being.
Plain & simple...THAT WASN'T TOMASZ ADAMEK THAT FOUGHT DAWSON. I don't know who it was that night, but he wasn't himself. Whether he had a kidney problem from weight loss, or **** his pants from nerves fighting a skilled southpaw, who can say. But Tomasz managed to land 1 solid punch & Chad went down. I don't think Kelly would be nervous & don't know how he's done in the past vs lefties, but like I've said, eventually KP will find that chin.
Not 15 lbs. The thread says a catch wt of 170 lbs. which would probably favor KP, easier for him to make wt.
Dude, you've got to be kidding me. Chad kept Adamek totally off rythm and out of sync. Give the fighter who causes the problems just due. Chad made Tomasz look like ****, Tomasz didn't go out there and do it himself. I expect more from you Jetski but it seems like you are looking thru glasses that project what you want them to.
