I think Chad outboxes Pavlik for the most part but both men have the punch to end it quickly.

This is a 60/40 fight in favor of Chad.

I did give Chad his due respect. I said that maybe Adamek crapped himself fighting a "SKILLED SOUTHPAW". What more do you want me to say about him?
And I'm glad to see you consider a Dawson vs Pavlik fight so close, with only a 60/40% chance favoring Chad.

Did you enjoy Boardwlak Hall Sat. night???:!:

To me I think this fight should happen actually, I think it would be a good fight, to see where kelly stands against the more skilled fighters of the world. 170 im pretty sure chad can make that weight no problem, and 170 would be a more conforable weight for pavlik to make, or anywhere in between 160 and 170 rather. I think both fighters should look into it to b honest

This is a highly dubious argument. Dawson has the skills to diversity to greatly trouble any stodgy punchers such as Adamek, and he simply made Tomasz look slow and tight. That's because, compared to Dawson, Adamek always will be slow and tight.

Pavlik has a bit more fluidity in his shoulders than Adamek, but otherwise, I don't know what more he brings to the table. Not only that, I think Adamek has a better chin than Pavlik, and Kelly's power becomes a mystery as he moves up.

Even a 10-pound jump is significant, although as you pointed out not as dramatic as 15.

I'd rather see Dawson get one more big win before taking on Pavlik. Kelly now has two high-exposure HBO bouts -- and one over an undisputed champ -- while Dawson has only Adamek.

Chad should fight Johnson or ideally Tarver. I'd love to see either guy against Kessler, or Chad against Calzaghe (JC would school Pavlik).

I disagree to me even though Pavlik beat Jermain he is not a "big name" fighter as of yet, they are both on the same social status to me as both champions. I think they should fight and the winner of that takes on Joe Calzaghe vs. kessler winner.
2 me I think there is a lot of potential matchups that can happen for both fighters, you have the winner f RJ vs trinidad to factor, while both would view them as being old, they both can draw a crowd, so it would b good xposure for kelly or chad. and give them a good win over an ATG.
Hopkins is waiting around, Glen Johnson as you said, Tarver, there is a lot of fights that can be made

My boy Dawson would box Pavlik's ears off all night long, and eventually get the KO in the later rounds. This fight is a mismatch, imo. The gulf in boxing skills is just too big.

but I do agree that JC would beat Pavlik, despite im not teh biggest of fans for Calzaghe, I do agree he would outbx Kelly to a UD.

Not too bad at all. We left Maine 8am & was home at 2:30pm. Rested up & left for AC at 6:30pm & was in the arena watching boxing by 9pm.

Yeah, I couldn't believe my eyes in the 2nd round, either. But that made the win all the more sweeter, being that he came back from adversity the way he did.

Maybe your right. I'm being blinded being a big KP fan. But, you have to admit, Kelly will always have a punchers chance.

I think Pavlik can sell more tickets than Dawson. Most of that can be explained as the difference between HBO and Showtime. Put Chad on HBO vs. Tarver, and suddenly a new PPV fighter will emerge.

But I'm happy for Chad to stick on Showtime for now. They need a star, now that Jeff Lacy has been shellacked, and Dawson is it.

My theory is that Gary Shaw has a deal with them to have a certain (a lot!) number of his cards on Showtime, with the return promise that he'll keep Chad off of HBO, at least for now.

My mistake, I didn't see this was at 170 lbs. I wonder if Chad can go that low today without much trouble...

I still favour him to win, but I agree, Pavlik will always have a puncher's chance, and in this one, it's not just a slim one, either. :good

Yes cuz Pavlik hasn't been down as much as Dawson right? When Dawson was down, he got back up and wasn't wobbly at all. Pavlik on the other hand? You seem to have selective memory or you're pulling our legs with that argument.

Dawson is far more skilled than Pavlik or Taylor. Pavlik has a punchers chance, but I doubt he currently has the skill to land that punch.
