The Argentinian takes this, although Pavlik would make him know he was in a fight. Pavlik`s downfall here would be the fact that he is especially open for the left hook, and the last guy you want landing his left hook on you with regularity is Eduardo Lausse. Lausse wasn`t just some wild swinging brawler either who would throw his hook with reckless abandon, he would look for openings to land it and Pavlik would give him plenty of opportunity to do so. Lausse by mid-rounds KO/TKO in a real humdinger of a fight.

Wow what a thread! I think Kelly Pavliks punching skills are skills we have not seen in a while, since carlos monzon who pavlik really reminds me of. Pavlik at 6'3 really uses his height and long arms well, and pavliks jab is one of the best I have seen. lausse would look for openings but he would be met by pavliks jab, I dont think lausse can get away from pavliks jab. I like Pavlike breaking down Lausse throughout the fight throwing the occasional combination but fighting mostly at long range outboxing lausse for the decision

Pavlik hits harder than Monzon if you ask me, but I do not think he is a gritty and tough as Monzon was. Pavlik can box. He can brawl. His stamina looks good. And he is a huge middleweight. Pavlik likes being a prizefighter too.

I still want to see a bit more of Pavlik before speculating on how he would do vs other greats. I get the feeling that Pavlik is going to be a good, but not ATG middleweight champion.

Thats fair, He still is very young and has time to develop better boxing skills, but the man certainly has fundamentals and his long powerful jab is a key weapon in his boxing game. Pavlik is one of my new favorites. ever since the edison miranda fight.

I think the most impressive thing about pavlik is not his power, but his punching technique and the way he throws punches in bunches. His combinations are oustanding, and he really works mixture between head and body well. He has natural punching technique, his punches smoothly zip to their target.
