The best Floyd could hope for would be to run and pot shot his way to a boring UD loss. If he mixes it up with Pavlik even once, he gets knocked the **** out.
I'm not wasting my time reading this thread. I'll just post what I have in ALL of the others that have been started with this totally original topic. If Mayweather though he could take Pavlik, he would have tried to make the fight.
So Floyd would still have the same speed & lateral movement with about 15-20 lbs added weight :tired?
Floyd may be faster than Hopkins, but there has never been a smarter fighter than Hopkins in the history of Boxing. That said, Floyd is also one of the greatest "thinking fighters" ever.
That's what it comes down to. Floyd is great, but Hopkins made Pavlik respect his power to keep him from just coming forward. Floyd wouldn't do that. Floyd could maybe dance his way to a decision, but the far more likely scenario is that Pavlik walks him down and eventually connects. And then... sleep. To even use the blueprint Hopkins used is stupid. Hopkins had the size and power to keep Pavlik honest. Floyd doesn't. If Floyd tried to fight Pavlik the way Hopkins did he'd get sparked inside 3, guaranteed.
