Taylor Hasn't Really Fought A Big Middleweight. He's In Trouble. Pavlik Will Keep Him At A Distance At First Than Take Him Into Deep Water To See If He Can Really Bang. Than, Down He Goes. And The Crowd Goes Wild!
Taylor's jab will return in this fight and Pavlik will have a long night...Taylor is too smart to engage in a slugfest with Pavlik, and he has enough pop to keep Pavlik honest en route to a UD win...
"Too smart to engage in a slugfest with Pavlik". So you agree that if this does happen (a slugfest) Taylor will get KO'ed. Good thinking, but Taylor won't have much to say or do in this matter, as Kelly will impose his will, implement his gameplan, dictate the action & become the NEW Middleweight Champion of the World! And I feel that ALL the pressure will be on Jermain. He will be the one with sleepless nights leading up to this fight.
I heard taylor hasnt slept a wink since signing his life away--i mean since signing the contract to fight pavlik.
don't worry, he's got the weight excuse all planned out. And a guaranteed rematch at super middleweight
I admire Pavlik for giving in to the somewhat unorthodox demands of Taylor and taking a real small % of the purse. Gotta respect that, it's obvious he's just in it for the fight, like a real boxer. I'm really sick of the "if the money's right" attitude. That ****'s for pussies.
im rootin for pavlik in this fight but i wouldn't be completely suprised if taylor pulls off a sd victory... hopefully pavlik ko 6
I think that looking at Taylor's last 5 fights is a going to bring the wrong conclusions. Each and every one of those opponents has been very difficult but also very different than Pavlik. Hopkins, Winky, and Spinks fought with outstanding and tricky defenses. Pavlik will not have a complex defense. That's not a knock on him, but it's not his style. Taylor has looked bad because he has matched up poorly to the strengths of his opponents. This is going to be a rough fight for Pavlik and I think that he will deserve to be an underdog. We haven't seen it in a long time, but Taylor has a disciplined and powerful jab. I think that he is a stupid fighter without a great ability to adapt in the ring, but I honestly don't think that will be a big deal because Pavlik is going to be coming forward and not trying to dazzle Taylor with a confusing defense. I'd love for Pavlik to win. He's a hometown fighter that I've seen several times in Ohio, but it's important to be honest. Taylor's strengths actually match up well to Pavlik. It should be an excellent fight and the first one to not be boring for Taylor in quite a while.
Zakman, if there's one thing I've learned in my time on ESB- it's that if you call into question a fighter's chin, it's usually with damn good reason. :deal
