LOL, I just did a thread and it disappeared in thin air. Arum thinks Pavlik is done on another site. Freddie Roach also thinks the same. They wanna put Pavlik in with Chavez to make junior a cross-over superstar.

I guess this is an indication that Pavlik is taking the summer off to get his weight issues settled. I hope he can do it but I'm just not sure this is the best thing for him in the long run.

I do not think the rumours about Chavez jr are true. I just read an interview with Roach, and he pretty much admitted Junior isn't ready.

chavez has a platform to build on and he doesn't need to rush it. freddy has a level head and i also don't believe he'll throw him in with pavlik just yet anyway.

Wow! Those who are keen on making this match for JCC Jr must think Pavlik has eroded greatly. There was a time, not so long ago, when Im in no doubt, Jr would not have even been mentioned as a possible opponent for Pavlik.

Pavlik has lost to better fighter than Jr. JCC Jr might have done well in beating Duddy, but in facing Pavlik, he will be facing a man who can hit very hard, a lot harder than Duddy!

By the way, surely this can't happen at 160lbs? If so, I predict Pavlik fails to make weight. He has gone to the well too many times in respect of making 160lbs! He knows it himself!

OK, what is everyone's opinion on Pavlik's mental state? He was confident, mentally very strong on his way up and in both Taylor fights. Against Martinez, he seemed to want to quit in the later rounds, something the KP of the first Taylor fights wouldn't dream of doing no matter how bad he was hurt. He should easily beat JCC but is it possible that he got used to losing and if things don't go well gives up mentally?

Article on The Scene quotes Arum as saying that both sides have agreed to fight in December. However, Chavez Jr. will be taking a fight in the interim, September 11th, against "the best guy available" to get him ready for Pavlik.

Well, at least Kelly now knows for certain Arum is going to jerk him around. That is out on the table.

There is certainly nothing new about Arum jerking Pavlik around. That's has been going on for quite awhile.

If Chavez is out, I wonder if he'll still try to make 160. 39 year old welterweight Shane Mosely turned Martinez down, so he doesn't haveanything scheduled, and the Jacobs/Pirog winner should be available by late November or early December.
