I know he is tall but based on his bouts with Taylor and Hopkins I don't think Pavlik is a 168 Lbs. boxer.

Figured you would have to be one tall dude. That doesn't look like LeBron even after you say it, but I don't follow basketball that close.

The talk is from the 'team' is he won't move up until he is ready to do so permanently next time. That is why this is not too believable. And to step in against Bute without the proper time to add the weight? :huh Just not adding up, but ya never know...

Jean Bédard, Bute's promoter, said Pavlik is still on the table for Bute's next fight. Even tho Pavlik said he wants William next. Bédard said he his schedule to resume the talk with Arum after the holidays in January.

Bute by brutal KO! within 5 rounds!

Even at a catch weight of 164 Pavlik gets put down numerous times!

Bute has way to much skill for Pavlik and has to much speed and power!!

Dip**** Jack will never let his meal ticket fight Bute.

What advice could he possibly give him?

Pavlik/Williams seems very unlikely at this point. Goosen is demanding a 50/50 co-promotion. Arum told him, "Take a walk." Arum also said they are looking at Sturm, Martinez, and Bute. (That's on Fan House Boxing.)

As far as over all skill, and who won the Martinez/Williams fight, there isn't a nickel's worth of difference between the two. Sergio Martinez is the bigger man, and stylistically the bigger challenge. In addition, DiBella is a better and smarter promoter than Goosen. Plus, KP said he had Martinez up by a couple rounds against PDub. Put all the facts together and Pavlik/Martinez now seems more likely than Pavlik/Williams.

I honestly believe Sturm means business. At 30 years of age I think he is trying to do something meaningful, and make some serious money. Hopefully the newly established Roach connection will inspire HBO to throw a little more money in the pot. Felix Sturm is also one of the most frequently under rated fighters on ESB.

There is no hurry with Bute/Pavlik. The tournament is a long way from over. It would be a huge mistake for Pavlik to go from a 10 month lay off, and 5 rounds with Espino, into a SMW fight with Bute. If he wants to fight Bute, he should take his time about it and move up the right way, and that includes a pre-bute tune up at 168.

Real bad news if Pavlik fights Martinez over Williams. Real bad.

It already looks kind of fishy him pulling out of the fight (for legit reasons I believe) with Williams inthe first palce only to fight a week later against a scrub. But to then fight the guy Williams just beat?

Theat would be brutal for his rep.

I hope he fights Williams. If noy him then Bute. Anything else would be real disappointing.

In order for Pavlik/Williams to happen Goosen needs to come to his senses. Williams offers nothing that makes him worth 50% of everything. He does not deserve 50% of the live gate, or 50% of the endorsements, or even 50% of the HBO money. And, since when did the challenger get to dictate the terms. Goosen has PW back on protective custody, just like he did in 2008.

Good points and I agree Boo. The thing is, I just don't like the talk of Martinez or Williams. I think he beats PW and stops Martinez in the later rounds onlydue to Martinez's speed and harder to catch clean. I have always liked Pavlik, but did not analyze the mans style as much as you or Herm. So I decided to watch a more detailed view of KP against Espino. I honestly was shocked at how good of an infighter Kp is and how good he attacks the body. I always see KP with the hard jab followed by a crushing straight right. After Espino, my opinion has changed dramatically. I used to think of a KP vs AA fight AT 160 at 50 50 but changed my mind and think if a fight AT 160 was ever to happen KP would be the favorite like 60 40. Different animal at 168 and think AA will be a much better fighter. I think beating Sturm, Gevor and Winky would be an ideal scenario, then move up to 168
