Montreal. Hopefully someone from there will come in the thread to speak more intelligently on it, there are 1 or 2 posters from there. Bute vs Andrade, Bika & fighters like that they get 17,000+ and sell out the Bell Center. A fight with Pavlik, they could probably hold that **** in the football stadium and get 30k easy.
almost 7 pages and ring master hasn't bumped his pav/bute poll thread or even come on here and mentioned it....not like him to miss an opportunity
I think Pavlik name is just being wisely thrown around by Bute's clan. They have a lack of quality opposition avaible right now at SMW. So they cant call out nobody at 168 and it goeas against there plan to go at 175. So there getting hype with the name Pavlik even if the chances of luring him are slim. I dont think Pavlik is anymore interested in moving up in weight at this point then Bute is.
Williams makes the most sense for Pav.'s next fight, that is if Pavlik wants to maximize his profits with much less risk (likely a loss) than against Bute. Williams will bring in bigger $'s than anyone else out there, and if they want the fight they will come down from 50-50 to a split slightly higher than the fights that were cancelled. Hell, even with a 50-50 split he'd make more vs. Williams than vs. Martinez. Perhaps a fight with Sturm over seas will sell well and they can make some serious dough, but who knows if Sturm wants Pavlik, and does Pav. want to make the trip? So realistically it's between Sturm and Williams, but if for some reason he takes on Bute next, Pav. is making a big mistake.
I agree. Ten months off followed by Espino followed by Bute is a very bad idea. The tourney won't end until spring or early summer of 2011 so there is no hurry to make that fight. Williams is a welterweight who would take a career threatening beating from Pavlik. He'd never fully recover. Pavlik should go after Sturm. If he can't get Sturm, anybody off the Ring top 10 list is fine. Those guys won't bring big money, but several would give the 27 year old Pavlik a chance to fine tune his craft.
Bute would be a huge mistake for Pavlik. Bute is, by far, the best 168lb. fighter in the world. He will knock Pavlik out. Pavlik will knock Williams out, Sturm is not an easy fight.
i think bute will fight miranda....and pavlik is looking for a fight with williams...he now thinks he has a chance against him after the martinez fight.......
From what Jean Bédard, Bute's manger, said, Pavlik is still an option for Bute. My guess is they will opt for Miranda if he wins. They may try to get Stieglitz but I don't believe it will work out. If Pavlik cannot settle a fight against Williams or Sturm and if he wants big cash, he may want to fight Bute. But Miranda first and Pavlik later would be fine for Bute. Miranda, Pavlik and Hopkins would be extraordinary. Then, some fighters of the super 6 would be available. That's all dreaming of course. Life doesn't work like that.
Bute or Dawson would wipe the ring with a 44-45 B.H., no offense. That`s why the b.h.`s staff will take none of these possibilities to not put a shadow on his carrier. What stops BH`s staff to take a fight prefered by HBO if not caution ?
