I think this is one of the most fascinating match ups that could be made, and it is not out of the question. Bute/Andrade II is going to purse bid this week, and if that comes off, Froch/Bute is out. In addition, I have a gut feeling that HBO is more interested in Pavlik/Froch than they are in a fight between KP and either of the Germans. I think Bute will get past Andrade again. Froch would make KP look like Willie Pep and Godzilla have a son. The above means Pavlik/Bute is not a far fetched idea at all. Pavlik does pretty much everything better than Andrade who gave Bute hell last time out. On the one hand, KP has the southpaw slayer on tap: a good jab and a big right hand. On the other hand, the best southpaw on Kelly's resume' is a faded version of McKart. My immediate gut level reaction is either Bute wins a decision, or KP stops him late. I doubt if Kelly can outbox Lucian, and in spite of the haters and skeptics, there is no ****ing way Bute is stopping Pavlik.
Pavlik has better stamina and a chin then people give him credit for. Especially his recuperative powers. Bute is not knocking out pavlik. Has anyone ever even tested pavlik to the body? I don't even remember BHop going to pavlik body. Why I bring that out is because Bute is a really underrated body puncher, quite accurate and hard. If Bute soften Pavlik up, with Pavlik not the hardest to catch clean, Bute has a real good chance and outpointing Pavlik in this matchup. BUT, if he fades and fights like he did against Andrade, and thinks he can go toe to toe against either PAV or Arthur, no doubt both fighters KTFO BUTE. Bute in his last fight did look really good with his body attack. Good matchup if it happens.
Me too, and if the scenario I laid out happened it would be a unification fight between the Ibf champ, and the WBC champ. If Kelly pulled this one off, bring that ****ing Robo-Dane out of mouthballs!:yep:bananamaniac
Pavlik by KO by round 6. Bute is SO overrated. He should have lost to Andrade and all Andrade does is charge forward head first. Pavlik may not be an ATG, but he would KO Bute I have no doubt.
good points as usual...bute is a southpaw which pav hasnt seen much of and has pretty decent movement. but you are right to point out that he faded horribly against andrade and if he did that agianst pav (or aa) it would get ugly.
He's not over rated at all. In fact, by virtue of him fighting out of Canada, he's been under exposed. Any blind fool can see that Bute has excellent boxing fundamentals with fluid technique combination punching, light years ahead of the more mechanical Pavlik. What happened with Andrade is controversial and probably unjust, but what is beyond debate is that Andrade was schooled silly for 11 rounds and looked like a Neanderthal in comparison to Bute, in the skills department.
That's true. Bute does run out of gas too as proven in the Andrade fight and if he runs out of gas here he will be taken out and immediately.
