If he just had hand surgery over the weekend, how could he be ready in a month?

Hopefully this means if both Pavlik and PTP are victorious that they will try once again to fight each other next year.

Last week when the WBC had those meetings, where they announced several goofy decisions, Pavlik was one of the topics. I'm speculating, but I have a feeling they may have put him on notice: defend or else.

In addition, the Williams/Martinez winner WILL get a shot. That really gives KP a choice. He could sit and wait for the winner to be ready to fight again, and fight the Williams/Martinez winner on the heels of a 14-16 month lay off. Or he could find an interim opponent who would take a fight on short notice.

Are you serious? He pulled out of the Williams fight because of an alleged injury and now he's fighting two weeks later than that proposed date. I can't excuse that. This will be his 3rd title defense and the 3rd against a lower class opponent. This is awful. Pavilik can't live off the Taylor wn forever(a win that looks worse and worse after ever Taylor fight).

Quit crying Reg. Pavlik tried to postpone for an additional 2 weeks beyond the December 5th date. Williams/Goosen said no. Can't blame them for that at all, but you shouldn't hate on Pavlik for taking an easy interim fight between now and the time the Williams/Martinez winner is ready to fight again.

How many easy interim fights is he going to take? This **** is getting ridiculous. After he postponed for the second time against Williams, all the reports that I heard was that they wanted to push to fight back to January. He also claimed he almost died. I have no problem with a fighter backing out of a fight if he's really injured. However, it doesn't look good at all that he pulled out of the Williams fight and is now fighting two weeks later. His title reign has been dissapointng. You have to admit that. He pulled out against Mora, and now he's pulled out twice against Williams. It seems to me that the Hopkins fight has shook him. I hope I'm wrong, but it looks that way. He's the MW champion, no one wants to see him fight no hopers and make excuses as to why he doesn't fight any legit fighters. For god sakes, he's fighting a nobody at a local basketball gym. You can't tell me this is how you envisioned his career progessing.

Disappointing is an under-statement! After watching this kid smash everything in his path, I certainly did not expect to be on here talking about Pavlik fighting a guy whose big claim to fame is a loss to Peter Manfredo. However, I'm willing to wait and see what he does about the winner of Williams/Martinez. If he puts in a good performance against against the winner of that fight (PW) he'll be back on track.
