Yeah, Arum probably knows how to come out 'clean' from these disgraceful situations unfortunately. It's one thing that Team Williams' 2nd half of 2009 (HBO's year-end too) was completely screwd by Team Pavlik with a savvy Harward lawyer promoter getting away without his ass sued off... but to see people HAPPY and all smiles about it (and stating "I don't BLAME Team Williams for not fighting Pavlik" - whaaaat?) makes me wonder about certain posters character...

Instead of coming up with something smart, try to take Team Williams' POV for a second... they and HBO are VERY lucky to get the Martinez deal (a fight they could easily lose on short notice), but if they couldn't (this IF had a huge possibility), imagine Paul Williams, the completely healthy fighter forced to take the year off whereas Kelly Pavlik, the injured fighter who caused this mess returning to the ring in December to defend his MW championship.

Jsimps is confirming Boo's guess that the WBC is missing their pay check and telling Kelly to defend soon or be stripped. So, now we know. He picks up someone on short notice that he can beat even if not 100% and puts on a 'home town' show.

There's no problem ASKING for an interim fight with a step-aside money IN TIME, leaving Team Williams and HBO time to actually come up with something on a normal schedule, but blatantly lying about not being ready and leaving HBO (who canned a Shane Mosley and several other fights for a match-up Team Pavlik never was serious about) and Paul Williams (who sacrificed his whole 2nd half of 2009 for a fight the other camp never wanted for 2009) in a shithole, which is inexcusable an unprofessional.

Arum and company never did anything to make up for the mess and monetary/time/schedule losses they caused to HBO and Team Williams, it was their hard work on short notice to make the Martinez fight while Team Pavlik was secretly forging a completely different MW World Championship fight for the same month, ignoring a singed contract. How do you think Paul Williams and Ross Greenburg feel right now?

Do you HONESTLY think this Espino guy is taking the fight on 4 weeks notice, with no chance of quality preparations? If YES, he's being treated how Loew would never ever wants to be treated again: entering the fight without 100% preparations. Double standards? If NO, Espino knew this fight is happening weeks ago, and HBO and Team Williams were treated how Team Pavlik never wants to be treated. Double standards?

I mean, c'mon man. We all kept hearing the excuses, and while some of them seemed to be based on the truth, that doesn't pay the bills for Williams. He last fought in April and needs to keep busy.


How many times does he have to keep being put on hold by a company who obviously don't like him very much??? At some point he has to say enough is enough, and move on...
