I don't know why Kessler wants a middleweight when there are plenty of good fighters at 168. I still want to see that fight though and think Pavlik wins a UD, maybe even a late TKO.

Hmm. Have not we heard this all before??? Let me think, oh yeah he also called out Lacy and Miranda only to back out once the fighters agreed to fight him. Kessler is fast becoming a joke in boxing outside Western Europe.

Well done, that was a very grown up way to respond to somebody's opinion.

:rofl @ 28 picks for Pavlik by KO. I bet at least half are from the ohio fanbase that knows little to nothing about boxing.

This isn't going the distance because Pavlik doesn't have the chin to be shelled for 12 rounds, which he would be by Kessler, due to Kessler's speed and timing. He had issue's with Taylor's jab and predictable movement and he's going to mow through Kessler, despite Kessler having a superior jab and superior timing/movement and power?

    :patsch

Whatever, I am getting tired of even addressing these obvious' issue's with the typical crop of ignorant boxing fans.

I believe Pavlik takes it, however, I think he can draw more fans and $$$ if he can first clean out the midleweight division by uniting all four belts. Thus, he would need to defeat Arthur Abraham and Felix Sturm. At this juncture, Pavlik is the number one middleweight.

The only person that I can definitely say is 'beneath me' here is you Lance, but that goes for any good poster, not just myself or people who agree with some of my stances.

i'm leaning towards pavlik via a decision or late KO. pavlik has already proven that he's already an elite fighter with his victories against taylor. kessler still has to prove that he's even an A-level fighter yet. pavlik may not have the skills of kessler but he has power, heart and chin. he will overwhelm kessler w/ power shots here and kessler will lose heart just like in the calzaghe fight. taylor had better skills than kessler but look what happened...

I think Kessler beats Pavlik easier than Joe will personally. Joe has had trouble in the past with rough guys, and has been guilty of fighting a silly fight, sometimes IMO to try and impress. Joe will also probably have more trouble with the pace and pressure of Pavlik due to his age. Kess has that little bit more power than Joe to keep him at bay, and will land that jab cross with regularity. I personally think this is a bad match up for Pavlik. Unless he can really adapt, and provide effective pressure and make Kessler fight a WAR with him... Unlikely though, Kessler is too smart for that. Wouldn't be suprised to see Kessler stop Pavlik in the later rounds.

Calzaghe ruined his boxing so Pavlik is too? You're becoming more and more laughable.

    Kessler, clearly.

No ****, it's clear that a counter puncher, which Kessler is very good at that, is a bad style for Pavlik. Kessler fighting in the controlled manner and Pavlik lacking the movement and speed to bring Kessler out of his game, leaving the man who dominated every opponent he faced aside from Calzaghe due to them not being able to beat Kessler at his game(Calzaghe HAD to switch things up to win, Kessler was tooling him inside and when he was coming forward, Calzaghe had to draw Kessler to him to outbox him)....

Is Pavlik going to win by coming at a quick handed, hard hitting counter puncher who can time him ALL DAY long? How does he win there? Kessler moves around like Muhammad Ali compared to the flat footed Pavlik.

Pavlik's even shown issue timing guys with lesser defences than Kessler and we know how accurate a puncher Kessler is from his results in 39 wins, showcasing a fantastic land percentage in each fight.

Joe WOULD have more issue(if any) than Kessler, on styles alone.

kessler can be overwhelmed by volume or/and power. his heart and courage is the Big ? here after the calzaghe fight.

If Joe C could beat him, KP will "damage" him, as the man said. Not sure what round. Maybe as soon as 5 or 6. Kelly won't want to waste any time, or give Kessler time to get into a rythmn. The pressure will be on immediately. KP's workrate will remind him of what JC did to him, only he'll be saying "I've never been hit this hard before". Then what does he do?

Tough one to call. Could go either way. If Pavlik did not have to move up I would favor him. If they fight at a catch weight of 166 I'll favor Pavlik.
