I will say Pavlik via 3rd KO if this fight happens.

I think that Williams can become a damn fine middleweight, but the gap between Quintana at 147 and Pavlik at 160 is a bridge to far.

Hey Paul Williams might join the handfull of fighters that won a welterweight title and went on to win a middleweight title ....

I think what he means by that is not really power its more he is just not that good of a puncher technically. Any tall lanky guy has power if they get the right mechanics behind their punches. At least half the time PW doesn't fight to his physical advantage and it comes across as if quite a few of his shots don't have that much behind them. Paul Williams doesn't got a chance in hell against Pavlik imo.

I really don't think anyone wants to fight Pavlik is the real problem here.

Anyone who thinks williams has a chance have no clue of what happens when you add 13 pounds. Welterweight to Middleweight is WAY bigger then you think.

    Williams would get crushed.

As for Pavlik, its team to clean up this division. Abraham, Winky, Felix Sturm. Then he can move on to 168 to face Jermain Taylor who will probably be the owner of 2 belts when Kelly goes up.

Now this is is hilarious ! How in the world can anyone defend this nonsense ? A welter weight are you kidding ?? You can't tell me they couldn't have looked at a jr middle weight instead of a dam welter !!

    This is pathetic !!

If Williams had the proper amount of time to bulk up -(ala Hopkins when he got ready for Tarver), I'd pick him for the upset. He's got the longer reach and faster hand speed. He might not have KO power at MW, but his activity and speed would nullify Pavliks power - same way Calzaghe does to Kessler and Lacy. I don't believe we've seen Paul's full ability at WW the way he has to shed all that weight.

I'll call for an exciting twelve rounder, with Pavlik imposing himself towards the end. But if Paul had another month or two to properly bulk up, I'd go with Williams by close decision. Either way, this will be a good publicity for him and he should stay at MW.

This could be a really good fight. Williams should be a very live underdog.

i've sparred with Paul Williams and he is huge....i'm a legitimate middleweight and Paul looks bigger than me when not in camp....it's not a bad fight by any stretch for him to fight Pavlik and i think it would be a great match....

This fight is going to be so one sided once Paul tastes that power !

    Pavlik by early stoppage ...

The octopus is going down, but he has a lot of guts. I guess we can forget Williams ever fighting Mayweather after Pavlik is done with him or anyone for that matter. Oh well, maybe he can finally getting around to organizing his sock drawer.

Williams is definately tall enough and has the reach to do well at middle, and I agree he would be better served to have worked his way up to MW before making one huge leap.
