They may not always work, but they don't have a negative effect, either. For 20 seconds, tit's worth it. You never know, Winky or some of his team may stumble upon it and think twice. It's not impossible for some good to cme out of it. The time you spent bitching could have been put towards making an effort, even if it turns out to be insignificant. I signed, obviously.
