Kelly Pavlik vs Sergio Martinez in April!!!!!

Watch Williams and Pavlik fight more.... Pavlik gets hit a lot , but even when he is getting hit he has his hands up and anticipates the shots..blocking , even if partially, most shots

Williams fights recklessly open and gets hit flush often with punches he doesn't see coming...

If you boxed you would understand the difference. Pavlik has been boxing since he was really young, Williams started fighting when he was like 20... and it shows in their fundamentals

Williams may have an 82 inch reach but he doesn't use it, he DOES NOT fight from range and doesn't really seem to be effective unless fighting on the inside..

Pavlik will use his range against Martinez and fight tall..

You're clearly are just a PW fanboy and you are unwilling to admit the fighter who just beat williams up would lose to the guy that supposedly was "afraid" of Williams.

 

These guys don't realize that PW had problems getting off on SM and PW is faster and a better boxer with more versatility than KP

Kermit Cintron who is way faster with power and is a better boxer than KP had problems with Martinez

i have competed in boxing...pavlik doesn't always keep people at bay with his jab either...i mean look at the espino fight...they even asked him about that in the post interview..and he said espino was just finding a way to get inside...

haha im a paul williams fan boy? look at my past threads i said pavlik would beat williams because williams is there to get hit...it'll be just like when pavlik fought miranda...however, martinez beat williams and he will beat pavlik as well...williams actually throws more punches and more punches from different angles than pavlik...martinez UD

 

PW throws punches from more angles than KP yet Martinez was still able to counter and catch PW effectivley! If Pavlik is slower with less defense then why wouldn't be easier for Martinez?

 

:roll: U must not remember what Pavliks Grandaddy Hopkins did to him. Pavlik is good, but he is not even close to those legends league. Bhops showed him how to respect his elders.

 

Wouldn't be a good idea for Pavlik. He wins, it's that he beat a 154-pounder that Williams just "beat" and if he loses, it's...to a 154-pounder that Williams just "beat". Terrible fight to make. I actually think he has a better chance against come forward Williams than back out of range Martinez. I think he'd stop Williams, actually. Martinez is a real toss-up.

 

pavlik tough, strong guy, but can't handle a slick, fast fighter. martinez by SD. martinez won't stay in front of pavlik and just counter him all night with bombs from both hands. the only way pavlik wins is if he went to his old ways of volume punching, but unlike jermaine sergio will be out of range and is too fast to pavlik. i wouldn't be surprised if sergio drops kelly along the way

 

Williams won't be ready to fight. My guess is this is the fight HBO is willing to throw the most money at. I think every one on Pavlik's side of the negotiations would love to beat the **** out of Peterson for what HE said. Well, Goosen and Arum aren't exactly close either. I don't think Kelly feels he needs to go through Martinez (who he had winning the fight by a couple of rounds) to get to Williams. I could be wrong, buy I'm sticking with my money guess. Kelly just lost a big pay day.

 

See if you can did up the post fight interviews of Pavlik/Taylor 1. Jermain and Kelly were both surprised to find out Taylor was up on the cards at the time of the stoppage. Even with the KD. Kelly says it out right and then blows it off by saying the judges were probably right and he'll have to go watch it and score it.

 

Does he get inside if Kelly has a 100% health left though?

Yeah yeah, we hear Pavlik is going to fight every body but the fights just dont seem to happen.

If it happens it should be a good fight. But Im not getting excited.:roll:

Arum floats names because it amuses him. In the past even Kelly's team has been caught off guard by who the opponent turns out to be. We know Martinez was on the HBO approved list before and I'm guessing Williams is out for at least 6 months with his cuts. They low balled the Sturm unification fight before. Still not my first choice though but from HBO's perspective, they won't have to do much advertising.

 

Pavlik needs to knock Williams out first. Williams will not fight Pavlik now. He knows better.
