Martinez is in fact a bigger challenge than Williams. Sergio is quick and slick. Williams throws caution to the wind and initiates a head on collision. Martinez is a good size JMW. PDub is a welterweight.

Martinez will give Pavlik some trouble for the first few rounds. Somewhere between round 4 and round 6 Pavlik will start finding his mark. He'll hit Martinez hard enough and often enough to stop him in 8-9 rounds.

pdub is not a welterweight...he hasn't fought there in quite sometime...he is better at the higher weights....in all honesty i think martinez should remain fighting at 154 and clean up that division..he'd make easy work of foreman and spinks i believe....i still see martinez UD pavlik though

Pavlik's camp is full of idiots. This is a bad fight for KP.

a lot of ppl would discredit him for a win claiming sergio is a natural 160 pounder...which may be true but regardless it would still be a good win..

It would be a good win considering Martinez just gave Williams hell for 12 rounds, but it would be a bad loss considering Martinez isn't known very well by the general pulbic.

With all due respect to Martinez, both times he fought in the US he was on the bad side of decisions

Seeing how Pavlik dealt with the foot movement of a 44 year old Hopkins, he'll get schooled by Martinez who is a lot quicker, moves a lot more, and is a slick counter-punching southpaw. This fight has upset written all over it.

Hopkins does avoid punches a lot more than Martinez though. If Sergio can avoid the big punches I think he should cruise to a 116-112 decision or something like that.

The people in Pavlik's camp aren't the sharpest guys around. Even though I think it's very brave to take a fight like this, anybody who knows boxing should be cringing at this idea.

If Kelly is going to fight a slick southpaw. He may as well fight Bute for more money.

    No?
