this is all b/c of what a 180 + lb atg did to kelly at lhw. he is a beast at mw the likes of which sergio hasnt seen in the ring before. and if bernard at that size couldnt stop kelly, a jmw w/ a 50% ko ratio sure as heck aint stopping him.

sergio's punches will have no where near the effect that hopkins' did and sergio will not be able to get inside like hopkins did. kelly is too strong for him.

since everyone on here thinks kelly is some kind of alcoholic (not saying your in that boat darryl)...i'll have some fun w/ that stupid rumor since everyone is basing what sergio will do on the bernard fight...

look at bernard like a quintuple shot of jim beam that pav couldnt handle while sergio is a fruity test tube shot that pav can handle. both are similar in that they contain alcohol and alcohol, when consumed in large enough quantities, cannot be handled  (sorry, im just having an early morning laugh at the office). but pav can handle sergio. it will be tough, but sergio is no bernard hopkins. if williams can make sergio fade, pav will make him wilt.

sergio martinez was vastly underrated prior to the williams fight and proved everyone wrong. i saw that coming too. i knew he would give williams a helluva fight.

pavlik has been vastly underrated at mw b/c of what hopkins did to him at lhw. he will prove everyone wrong but i feel that martinez should only get a shot at him if he beats williams soundly in a rematch.

Why? Martinez is a champion who took on a very tough fighter with short notice at 160lbs. Who is more deserving than Sergio Martinez in your mind?

Sergio Martinez is a top P4P fighter and will beat Kelly Pavlik. i don't buy into the idea that Kelly pavlik is washed up from one fight with Bernard Hopkins, but I do believe that Sergio will give Pavlik more trouble than you think. I just hope Kelly doesn't underestimate Sergio as you are.

Sergio is 5'11" and has a reach of 76 inches...not a small fighter...he's big enough to hurt Kelly with something he doesn't see...

The difference in this fight will be the speed and the southpaw stance...he will hit Kelly with shots he doesn't see coming over and over again...Kelly will be fortunate to escape this fight without getting knocked out.

i'll just start off by saying you are right to point out how tough martinez will be. i feel that there are three big fights for kelly out there w/o moving up to smw. williams, sturm, and martinez. martinez is the toughest of the three for the reasons you laid out.

but as far as who he should fight first...martinez/williams was close, probably coulda gone either way. but it didnt and the williams fight is the one w/ all the hype considering what has gone on the past 6 months. there has been talk of a rematch between williams and martinez.

now, the pav/williams fight is by far the biggest mw fight out there and probably the biggest one in a few years. if that cannot be made right away, then pav should go try to unify the belts against sturm and let williams and martinez settle their business. if pav wins and martinez wins, then make the fight. if williams wins, make the fight.

i feel pav beats martinez, williams, and sturm. i feel martinez is the toughest out of the three. but i also feel as of right now...today...he should be third in line. a fight w/ him won't be a unification fight like one w/ sturm would be, and he just lost (debatable) to the guy who is the biggest fight out there for kelly.

having said that, if a fight w/ williams can't be made and a fight w/ sturm can't be made...then fine, make the fight. but sergio martinez should not be priority number one right now for kelly.

I see your just saying **** cause it sounds good! Besides Pavliks power PW is an all around better boxer than KP!! Moron!

All you Pavlik fans swear by KP's power, I could understand if he had AA power but all he has is above average power!! Let me know who KP KO'd with one punch?

no well read pav fan thinks he has one punch ko power. but everything he throws has something on it (the old bronco mckart line :D)

but he has an 86% ko ratio and has stopped every mw he's fought including many who have never been stopped. despite all the flaws you can parade out about pav, that is quite an accomplishment.

now, kindly make me a list of the recognized divisional champs who can say that every fight in that division has ended in stoppage? even turn your lights out w/ one shot arthur can't say that.

Cuz I don't think Martinez has anything to prove with fighting PW again cause he fought him to a draw in my and many peoples eyes! On the other hand if PW isn't gonna fight KP next then SM is more than worthy to fight KP! KP just fought a bum so why should SM have to beat PW soundly to deserve a shot?!

i explain that in a thread just after that. if a williams fight can't get made and a sturm fight can't get made, then fine, make the sergio fight.

but a fight w/ him won't unify any belts and its not as big as the williams fight. pav/sergio would be a great fight and i'd like to see it but it shouldnt be a top the priority list imo.

that highlighted part in my post probably didnt come out right. i was typing that under the assumption that if a williams fight can't get made but a sturm fight can, then paul and sergio should fight and pav should unify the belts and sergio can get his shot at pav if he beats williams. sergio wins, make the fight. williams wins, make the fight.

but to make it clear. i won't be opposed to a pav/sergio fight if the other two can't get made for one reason or another and that may very well happen.

Zertuche is a f***ing brawler just like Miranda! For your imformation it took KP 8 rounds to finally get KO after beating him up for the whole fight!

If you Pavlik fans wanna know what power is check out AA the man that would have put Pavlik to sleep inside 5 rounds! Pavlik has good power not great!:nono

Even PW KO'd Andy Kolle with one punch!:hi:

Martinez is too fast and slick for the straight forward pavlik, like i said before martinez will school pavlik, because hopkins showed pavlik doesn't have the footwork to keep up with a fast slick boxer.

you knew this was comig cuz...:D

arthur went the distance w/ lajuan simon and shannon taylor who was acually stopped in 6 in his very next fight. abraham has also gone the distance w/ miranda at mw (****ing iced the **** outta him in the rematch tho).

so when arthur catches you its lights out. no doubt about that. but kelly seems to be just as effective w/ his accumulation of shots as arthur is w/ his style.
