okay, now who's he supposed to fight at smw? the tourney has most everyone tied up. a sturm fight would be great but hbo offered pav less than half of what he got for fighting lockett. i'm sure a sturm fight will be made but on top rank ppv. what else is he supposed to do?

super middle just isn't for pavlik. in the two fights north of middle, we've seen that he loses something along the way

he should have stepped up to smiddle quicker, thats if he wants it which i now doubt,it is a shame because i got into pavlik before the hopkins fight.a fight with sturm will prove nothing as sturm is a protected fighter to.

Even if he accepted it, Sturm wouldn't. Not much point.

Here is the real problem. Everyone wants a career payday to fight Pavlik. The money isn't there. HBO has pretty much disowned him after Hopkins. This is really simple **** but people don't want to see it.

Pwilley's manager accepted (and later did an about face) for $1.25 Million. Winky turned that down also. Abraham is reported to have asked for $1.5 mill & Saurland would keep all of his German TV money. Face it, people think Pavlik is some cash cow. I think the Sturm offer from HBO may start setting some people straight. Some people think HBO is hitching its wagon to Golden Boy at the moment. I don't know if that is true or not. FACT. They ain't throwing money at Pavlik.

yeah i don't see sturm taking it. he does pretty well over there $$ wise. do you think sturm would go for more money on one of uncle bob's ppv cards??

the best thing to do is let sturm and pavlik keep making hand picked defences of there respective titles.and leave the proper fighting to the supermiddle weights.

sturm yes, but pavlik is THE champ and though i've raged on him for rubio and lockett, he's really trying to put a decent fight together now. we live in an age where EVERYTHING has to be a superfight and division hopping is the norm. what happened to put in solid service in your own division?

i dont think him and his team are trying at all..solid sevice in a division is fine, but the middleweight division is weak, there are plenty of superfights available in the supermiddle weight division and if pavlik wants them fights bad enough they can be made.

    Just a tip.

If you do it Mayweather style, don't pick a guy just 1 size smaller, pick MUCH SMALLER!

Berto or Bradley should do the trick.

    :bloodreally?
norris totally deconstructed the 154lbs contendership.

pavlik beat zetuche, taylor and miranda all decent enough fighters but that is scratching the surface in comparison.

just keep fighting for god sake prove your a champion, not wait for the paydays it's counterproductive.

Martinez definitely has a chance of beating Pavlik. He has the style to bother KP. Whats up with pavlik lately? Hes had such bad luck or something hes like in limbo.

if i was top rank i'd have a simple strategy: make offers to the recognized top 2 in the division (sturm) and if he declines, work your way down the ladder to number 3, 4, etc. no complaints about that and be transparent with it: publicly state the demands to put pressure on the other fighters to sign (as long as the offers are fair) and spare kp from abuse as he's not the one ducking the fights, the other fighters are

norris fought plenty of bums when he was champ also fought blown up welterweights to...pavliks going down the same route, they all start fighting decent opposition but then its downhill with meaningless title defences.
