it'd be nice but neither is happening. personally i'd prefer him to take sturm's belt off his hands since he's not doing anything worthwhile with it. then, pavlik can focus on taking out the top 10. no catch weights, no silly "super fights". just pounding out every viable challenger at middle

yes but with a dominant champion, interest is born.

look at hagler: no one gave two shits when vito or alan minter were champion. hagler took over and dominated. suddenly people are moving up to challenge him left right and centre. good (not great but good) contenders developed and a middleweight era was born.

when pavlik starts getting back to business, the boxing world will take notice and the challengers will find HIM not the other way around

absolutely. it's huge news here in canada, i didn't realize how big he was in general here but i've been seeing clips of gatti/ward all day.

i'm still in shock to be honest. i feel in love with boxing through his fights with ward but there are SOOO many more that are incredible. it's really rare that you see someone in the ring with that much heart and courage. and now he's gone.
