Kelly is a tough kid but SRR is too far advanced in fact how long would Hopkins last against SRR, even a prime middleweight Hopkins get dominated by SRR
No question Robinson wins...But the Pavlik that beat Taylor would go the distance with him. Pavlik is a tough guy who can crack.
Pavlik would be there to be hit..he'd do his part...and Robinson would sure as hell do his part. The ref saves Kelly between rounds 1 and 2.
Robinson would beat him...He would stop him. But 1 or 2 rounds? Person of African descent please. He likely goes at least 5 or 6, unless he finds himself in a situation like the first JT fight...then he is screwed.
I can't see him going the distance, if both are at their MW best. He'd be too beaten up, even if he stayed on his feet. Robinson TKO4-6 somewhere, imo.
Kelly gets stopped 2nd to the 5th round. I believe Kelly gets Ray attention big time with his power but Ray won't let Kelly off if he's stunned.
People usually make the mistake of picking an acclaimed great fighter to stop/dominate a very good fighter from another, despite the fact plenty of mearly 'very good' boxers gave the great hard fights. In this case though if Robinson floors Pavlik early as Taylor did, he would likely close the show. Personally though I'd expect a mid rounds KO or Wide UD for Robinson, as Sugar has some size disadvantages here. Jones I would pick to score an early KO if he goes for it
I was just wondering, since Pavlik is a big-assed MW, who is the tallest/heaviest guy Robinson fought? Anybody? Maxim the heaviest?
Maxim was the heaviest and I'd presume tallest, Pavlik is a much bigger MW than they had back then because of 36hour weigh ins, allows him to get himself down to a lower weight. Pavlik has about 3inches height and reach advantages. In real terms Pavlik is probably a couple of weight classes bigger and his long strong jab may cause a few problems. But he's still getting his ass kicked emphatically in this class
