Bronco McKart took Winky the distance TWICE, and the first fight ended in a controversial split decision. When Bronco fought Pavlik he had some 50 odd fights on his resume' with 39 KO's, and had NEVER BEEN DOWN. He lasted less than 6 rounds with Pavlik. Taylor fought Winky to a controversial draw. Taylor, too, had had never been stopped. He lasted less than 7 rounds with "The Ghost." Moreover, people who claim Pavlik is "one dimensional" simply have not been paying attention. He has a specific style that works well enough to make him the world champion. That does not mean he is one dimensional. No way does Winky win this one. It would be a typical Pavlik fight: back and forth for 4 or 5 rounds, and then Kelly steps on the gas and brings the show to a dramatic close somewhere between rounds 6 and 8.:yep

I don't think Winky would have much chance.

    Mid rounds KO.

Winky would outbox Pavlik....it wouldn't even be close. Winky would take away his jab and right hand and I don't think Pavlik hits harder than Taylor who couldn't get to Winky either. Winky hasn't been down in over 10 years, that a testament to his defense.

Pavlik has no defense, Winky would just outscore him.

    Winky UD

If Winky had power, he get Pavlik out of there early because Pavlik chin is garbage!!!

    Pavlik would win by TKO.

Winky is too small and too faded to be able to do anything useful. He would not manage to keep Pavlik off, he just doesn't have that in him anymore.

A younger version of Wright might have just been able to use superior skills to offset the size advantage. Now? Easy money is on Pavlik.

Pavlik is not going to go through the smaller, older, light hitting Wright, who is on the decline. I dont see this being a close fight at all.

Taylor used to have a great jab that kept many fighters at bay also.

Hes had problems keeping that left up throughout his whole career. He had an interview once that asked him about it and he told them that when he first started boxing thats how he was taught by his trainer. Manny acted as if he was "fixed" of this flaw but he had it low much of the fight against Pavlik. Didnt look "fixed" to me.

I can't believe Winky is losing this poll. He has been so underrated after his loss to Hopkins at 170.

Hopkins himself said that Pavlik would probably stop Winky at this stage in his career.

    He makes a good point.

While Winky is a very intelligent fighter with a good defense, his footwork isn't what it used to be and he's getting old.

Pavlik will have reach, size, workrate, and power advantages over Wright.

It will be difficult for Wright to get in close enough to land that jab.

Besides, Wright has never fought a guy like Pavlik before. He could contain Mosley because because he was bigger, and against Hopkins he had his moments, but that's partially because Hopkins isn't the fighter he used to be either.

Pavlik will keep Winky at range and Winky's guard will eventually be penetrated. Pavlik has a good enough workrate to keep hammering away at Winky's gloves until Winky feels like his hands are going to fall off.

If Winky tries to be aggressive, it won't work. He doesn't have the power to put Pavlik down and will leave himself open when he attacks.

To me, unless a miracle happens, this looks like a no-win situation for Winky.

Just a bad physical matchup against an aging fighter.

I'm surprised how many people have picked Wright in this one. He may be a better boxer, but his best days are 3 years behind him and two weight classes beneath him. This is an easy one to pick IMO

Pavlik by TKO/UD (depedning on how much respect he shows Winky)
