Kelly Pavlik vs Winky Wright

I think it'd be a good fight and might be Winky's chance to re-insert himself into the picture in a major way. Winky should try and make this fight and not quibble about the dough.

 

Winky would take him to school himself IF he is at least half as usual.

 

I'm now leaning towards Winky if he has anything left that is.

 

After last's night fight - Winky's hopes should go up. He's seen that Pavlik can be outboxed. This might be the perfect way for Winky to make another bid for the middleweight title. Let's hope this fight happens sooner rather than later.

 

When I had first seen Pavlic, before the Taylor fights, I was thinking Winky would have an easy fight against this guy.

Then my thoughts began to change as Pavlic was looking better and Winky only getting older.


Havent heard much from the WInky camp in terms of fights. They were rumoring a paul williams matchup but that fell through.


Winky looked a bit out of shape against hopkins up at 170. Hasnt fought in a while. Maybe the Pavlic camp takes the fight. It would be a mistake, Winkys style would be very bad for Pavlic. Pav needs someone with poor defense that he can tee off on his next fight to get his confidence back up and get a win.


In the past, I would say Winky would UD this fight. I am not sure how much Winky has slipped. Based on styles and assuming he has enough left, I think he beats Pavlic.

 

Winky Wright's fighting style would make a guy like Pavlik look good.

 

winky isn't a mover though. he comes straight forward behind his guard. i think pavlik would win a decision right now, maybe not a few years ago though.

 

I'll pick Pavlik to win this one, Winky is living in a world on his own where he believes he beat everyone out there and is worth more money and to be honest, I'm glad he's living there and will hope to see him stay there. He got so many chances at good fights recently and has been turning them all down, the man is delusional.

Pavlik beats him, can't see Winky taking Pavlik's punches well even the ones on his gloves.

 

Despite the ass kicking that KP took last night, I still think Pav wins this one. Winky hasn't been as mobile as Bernard was last night for many moons (never was?). Also Wright doesn't hit as hard as Bhop , which was important to Hops' victory, as his power kept Kelly from "goin' Margarito on his ass".

I do agree however that it might be wise for the Pavlik camp to take a mando-tuneup sort of fight before jumping back in the ring w/another opponent potentially as dangerous as Winky.

 

Had this debate before a million times.

Everyone picking against Pavlik because of one fight... hilarious.

Winky has been inactive, eating Krispy Kremes and throwing parties with Puffy. He's one, probably close to two weight classes smaller than Bernard naturally. He has never been nearly as hard to find. He's at least three inches shorter than Bernard. His body has never looked completely right fighting at 160, let alone 168 or 170.

One loss to Bernard doesn't make Winky a favorite over Pavlik. Calm down everybody.
