I don't think that he'd be able to beat Abraham ... as bad as it may seem, Pavlik seemed a bit discouraged against Hopkins. After all that talk of knocking him out, he ended up on the verge of getting knocked out.

Abraham has a nice tight and high guard and blocks alot of punches ... then he explodes with a furry of wild power shots.

Pavlik backs up in straight lines and doesn't pivot ... he's always coming forward and he's just going to walk into some **** against Abraham.

I question Pavlik's chin and his technical skills ... he seems to just be a pressure fighter, with bad balance.

Pavlik also doesn't know how to properly throw the left hook ... and he telegraphs his right hand.

Pavlik was exposed by a master boxer, and one of the greatest fighters to ever live. Abraham is NO Hopkins my friend. Having said that... I'd give Abraham a good chance against Kelly because Arthur can punch, and Pavlik's chin isnt great. However Pavlik's jab and right hand would be problematic for Abraham. I wish this fight would happen already, but it appears that Pavlik is the one who's avoiding the matchup.

    1) Kelly wasn't exposed. He was fighting Bernard Hopkins.
    2) Kelly will beat AA IMO. He will constantly throw jabs and right hands just like usual. I think it will be a great fight.
    3) I can't see AA Ko'ing kelly. He has enough power, but for some reason I think if he did win it would be by UD.

Such a great analysis based on hindsight. Were you saying this before he fought Hopkins?

Yup, B-Hop dusted that ass good. But in the process Kelly earned his respect and B-Hop has reportedly (by Jim Lampley on HBO) adopted KP and is taking him under his wing to show him the how and why's.:deal
Saying B-Hop would even come pick him up and ride him to the gym to do it if he had too.

Pavlik will be better for taking on such a master at a youthful age to get the lessons that come with it.:deal

Kelly Pavlik is good ... he's one of my favorites ... but he showed the same signs of vulnerability that Tito did after he fought Hopkins.

I don't know if he's ever be the same ... all that look on the bright side **** that his corner was doing wasn't good ... he wanted to win that fight and all Jack Lowe could say is throw the double jab ... after 6 rounds its time to change the strategy.

In the latter rounds they were telling him to finish the fight ... you just lose the fight, not your title ... but i'm sure like many other fighters that Pavlik wanted to stay undefeated more than anything.

After the fight he sounded very bitter towards Hopkins.

Yeah, you can check my past posts ... I said that Hopkins was going to be Pavlik and win convincingly.

Those guys you names other than Jermain Taylor were all stepping stones and gatekeepers.

I can tell you this none of those guys won a middleweight title.

I thought Jermain won the second fight on points ... 7-5

At around the same age, Hopkins was badly beaten by Roy Jones. All 3 judges had it 8 rounds to 4, but in my opinion it was even more one sided than that. Hopkins still went on to do pretty well for himself, he wasn't exposed, just beaten by a guy who was the wrong match for him. pavlik was still do plenty, Abraham isn't a technical master or mover, he'll stand in front of him and trade punches, he could get knocked out by Pavlik who is more powerful.

Pavlik is a straight-up fighter. He couldn't cut it against B Hop because B Hop is a highly experienced, highly technical fighter who was stronger, more comfortable at the weight, and had a good night.

As Bernard himself said, Pavlik will not be beaten at 160. Abraham is strong, but Pavlik's specialty is disposing of aggressive fighters. He made Miranda look like a lemon, and it took AA two fights to do that. Pavlik has a better chin, better skills and more power.

Provided Kelly comes back, we'll see a great fight with AA but expect a mid-fight KO for KP

Abraham would beat Pavlik inside 7 one sided rounds! But this fight will never happen!

I love Pavlik but I absolutely agree with fitzgeraldz that B-Hop exposed him. No shame there, especially at a higher weight, but that was a schooling. I didn't know Hopkins was still capable of fighting like that. Hell, I don't even know if I thought Hopkins was ever capable of that kind of fight. Didn't he do a bolo punch?

That was awesome performance to behold, and I like both fighters.

If you think Pavlik wins against AA that´s perfectly fine, it might happen.
But statements like this just make you look stupid and ignorant...

Why do Pavlik fans keep exaggerating the significance of these wins for Pavlik. They were C and B level fighters (only just top 20) who never achieved anything pre or post fighting Pavlik.

These wins make him a top middleweight but he should never have been considered to 10 p4p at any point in his career.

I agree with the part about Kelly´s boxing skills but he doesn't have the kind of one punch ko power that AA has. Just look how many shots he needs to get a fighter out of there. Most of his KOs come from an accumulation of punishment, while AA makes his opponents fear for their live whenever he hits them and that´s the reason why he can get away with his low work rate.
I consider AA´s chin to be tougher than Pavlik´s because I´ve seen Kelly´s knees buckle plenty of times even against average punchers, while AA seems unphased even when he gets hit.
