He's trying to get some confidence back so I have no problem with this fight, it will probably be a war.
:rofl:roflatsch I talk so much smack, to people, about people, and I never ever put any one on ignore.....The way I see it, if I talk smack, I should be able to take it, and see it when they dish it out back to me.... Sometimes I get owned too, ah well....comes with the territory in posting in forums... I guess not every one shares my sentiments..
I agree he needs a BIG win, I mean like a TKO or KO, or a one sided UD, no way...he can go the distance and still be considred legit at the elite level, and I definetely concur a loss, he might as well retire....This is do or die for his career.....
Great Pavlik is fighting a c minus journey men that beat prospect unproven Lee. Lorenzo would have been a much better opponent. This sucks. And booradley forgot to mention that in Vera last 5 fights, 4 of those were by losses.
No -- I'm not ignoring anything. Vera lost to all the undefeated guys he has faced. However, he is not a step down from Lorenzo who is a "c" level guy himself.
This is a real test for pavlik!!! He's really going after an elite fighter.atsch It's a 50-50 fight that should be really shown on ppv!atsch
This is a FNF or Top Rank Live level fight that ended up on this card by shear coincidence. Pavlik announced his intention to fight in November way back in May; long before this PPV was concieved. The dates just happened to work out, so KP got the spot. Vera is a much better opponent than Edouard or Lorenzo. Edouard had some good wins years ago, but hasn't done anything of note such JT knocked him out. Lorenzo's best win was Dionisio Miranda who is about 60% as good as the other Miranda. Vera holds solid wins over Andy Lee and Sebastian Demers. In both those fights they brought him in as "an opponent," but Vera refused to play that game, and beat hell out of both guys. In addition, Vera is a natural super middleweight rather than a smaller guy who has to move up. He should be pretty comfortable at the 164 catchweight. Brian Vera does not know he is a journeyman. He does not have the mentality of an "opponent" who came for a paycheck. He will come to win. However, he tends to run hot and cold. I think his fights with Andy Lee and Craig McEwan are examples of that. There isn't a nickels worth of difference between Lee and McEwan, but Vera beat 7 shades of **** out of one guy, and lost badly to the other. What kind of fight we see will depend a great deal on which Brain Vera shows up.
Lorenzo just lost 2 title shots in Germany. Both fights went 12 rounds and if you saw either you know they were very close fights. Lorenzo is a title contender at this point and Vera is journey man who lost 4 of his last 5 fights and none of those were title fights. You would pick Vera to beat Lorenzo? Listen this fight is on the undercard of Pac - Margo, they are not going to spend big$$$. Vera is a very good opponent for this type of stage. But there is no need to try to down grade Lorenzo to make Vera look better. And besides that, it is clearly not true. Pavlik offered the fight to Lorenzo before Vera b/c he is a better fighter. Lorenzo's manager said they did not accept b/c the offer was a little light(undercard fight, what you expect) and Pavlik is too quality for them to take him on short notice.
