He seriously is, what's he achieved so far to prove he's any good? He beat a lacklustre Jermain Taylor and that is it. All of a sudden he's the next great but only because he has an exciting come foward swinging style, he's slow and massively open to counters and someone with decent footwork and a decent counterpuncher would ruin him. He's purely just the best of a bad bunch at the moment!
I dont think he is. Noone really knows the limit of Pavlik yet, but we know he is pretty damn good. Just how good remains to be seen.
I guess the rivalry between JC and Pavlik fans is getting bigger huh? i dont think pavlik is over rated on paper, but some off his fans killed it wen they starrted to compare him with the greatest all time middleweights. All you have to ask your self is, who could have accomplished what Pavlik has (Ko jermaine taylor n miranda). and then who could have accomplished what JC has accomplished (no loss, greatest supermiddle weight in history)??????
I'm just adjusting to the forum, I've tried the reasoning approach, but it's wasted on the mutants in here...
I wouldn't compare Pavlik to any atg's, but against today's competetion he has been doing good. He fought a tough Miranda, that's no walk in the park. he was the first guy to defeat JT by knockout fashion at that and he did it twice. Granted I still think he has unfinished business at 160 though.
He's rated right where he should be. He's faced a very good list of fighters considering his age, beaten them all, and KO'd at least 3 fighters who had never been KO'd. His speed and skills are underrated, he's getting better with each fight, and he is huge. The dude is earning his standing.
Of all the middleweight champs of the past, he reminds me most of Monzon, another guy who didn't look all that great doing what he did, but he just kept on winning.
