This is exactly correct, even in discussing prime for prime. :deal:

Jones points or stoppage, hard for me to imagine Pavlik catching and stopping this version of Jones.

It was hard for most people to imagine anyone catching and stopping the light heavyweight version, too, until Tarver did.

Its possible and Pavlik has the punch to do it, I just think the Jones at 168 and below would be too much for him.

Y’all gonna have to make me go back and watch some Kelly fights because I just don’t see it. Go watch Roy Jones versus Bryant Brannon, not saying that’s Kelly of course but it could look very similar

Pavlik has a rough time against anyone who can give him angles, and in fact he got taken to school by world guys guys of that style. He was a good straight-forward fighter but fortunate to come through the ranks at 160 when he did, because in other eras he'd have been relegated to fringe contender status.

As such, Jones would toy with him. Kelly was just too slow. But I do think Pavlik vs Hearns at 160 would be very interesting.

I always thought that pound for pound and at any weights they fought in, Pavlik was just better in his prime in every way than Jones. I mean, Taylor was like a huger puncher than anyone who tagged RJJ and Pavlik took all that stuff, man. He was teak tough like a Ghanaian, man. I tell you what. The defensive skills he showed against Lee Haney and Flip Homansky are just on another level to RJJ against some like Paws-credenza.

I liked pavlik but he would've got an absolute hiding off a prime Roy
