So again, you are essentially hedging your bets, if Pavlik loses you get gratification if he wins, you get the gratification of having predicted what is the most likely outcome Quite the risk taker aren't you, livin on the edge
:-( I do like a risk, however I can see what will go down in this one. Slaphead will get clowned, comeback later with some activity. The forces are behind him I feel, he'll get the decision regardless. People will then claim Pavlik's win was just as legit as Calzaghe's because of activity ignoring the fact Calzaghe landed the most ever slaps/punches :-( Its a disgrace.
regardless, i dont see how hes hungry. and pavlik isnt very limited. he hits hard, has a god workrate and is a bit awkward. bhop like 6 or 7 years ago, yea, i think he beats pavlik, but now, not so much.
I don't think there is much to study when fighting Hopkins. You can't outsmart him. Pavlik will just go in there and try to outwork Hopkins and keep coming forward. That is the best game plan to utilize. I think Pavlik realizes that he will eat some right hands while coming in but he also realizes that Hopkins doesn't have the stamina to really let his hands go. Hopkins will probably get in the harder, cleaner shots but Pavlik will outwork him and the judges will score it accordingly. You don't really "beat" Hopkins, you just outwork him.
At 170 he is gonna school Pavlik,no question about it and if he wasn't hubgry he would have quit,he has nothing to prove
Yeah if you talking natural weight but I mean weight class, anyway he gonna look bad and lose,he looked bad at 164 with Taylor, imagint at 170 with Hopkins
Define "looked bad". Just because he didn't get the KO? I think that was one of his better performances in some respects. Fought with 2 injured hands, out boxed the faster man and still had enough in the tank in the 11th to hurt Taylor with a body shot. I've watched Cal/Kess and Taylor/Pavlik 2 back to back about 3 times and I think Kelly looked pretty damned solid in that fight. :deal
Pavlik didn't look bad in the second fight. He fought like hell. There wasn't a KO because Taylor had a gameplan that emphasized improved defense and much more careful management of his stanima problems. I still see Pavlik scoring a late rounds KO. While they aren't hugging Pavlik will keep Hopkins at range with his jab, wear him down, and then start punishing him with body shots and straight rights.
Every time I watch Pavlik I can't see him winning against Bernard,he ain't got the skills, the speed, the intelligence. Can't see him beating Bernard except a KO
