tough hard fought fight, I seen Buchanan fight live a few times very tough guy with great legs, excellent jab and good power. Manny is a beast and his work rate incredible...I think I like Manny in a close fight but could be a series in which Ken holds his own
Good call ! Buchanan's smooth boxing keeps Pacman at bay often enough to earn the Scot a decision. Roughly 9 - 6 in rounds.
Both in a way provide, but also can exploit style nemesis points of the other, Manny often attacks in fast flurries which can throw a boxers rythme off kilter, particularly if the boxer is looking for a consistent or habitual methodology to exploit. as buchanan was able to do with Ruben Navarro, However Ken was not really a typical "Boxer" in the Howard Davis Mode, A plus for Ken was that he rarely found the Ropes a "Spiders Web" trap, he would bob up and down ..Left and right..and spin out like a Tartan top...and with a little Jig of the heels to boot...and he did it against other good fast handed boxers too like Al ford and Ismeal Laguna...i have no doubt it added to an opponents frustration if nothing else...Allied to that Ken probably had more "Bounce per Ounce" in those legs and found the 15 round route no problem.... It must also be remembered also that when Ken did decide to plant himself you probably could not simply ignore his punches, when chasing a Duran return Ken started to rack up a few interesting stoppages, Chung Kil Lee...Chu Chu Malave and an excellent counter-punching stoppage of Frankie Otero in their return match....so no brittle boxer in the trenches... If this sound all about Buchanan...its because i keep asking myself does Manny bring the uncultured..wild...and SUSTAINED..aggression of the young Duran... That Unpredictable nature to his aggression...is not an element Manny brings...and i tend to think that his more Professional approach lends itself that element of predictability that will favour Kenny, But i do think that Kenny brings an element of Fancy-Dan Houdini escapism that perhaps Manny hasnt seen before... They say styles make fights...perhaps that should be styles with ATTITUDES. and for a choir-boy looking practitioner...Buchanan has a Flint-Hard attitude and resolve.... Of course never easy..but of the two ...i think Buchanan can cope with what is presented to him...more than Manny will be able to cope with Kens bag of Tricks... Buchanan close...but clear on points for me.
