a lad I boxed with in the 70s had a T-shirt given him by ken.......Grossingers Ken Buchanan
The little git wouldn't give it me :lol:
This same bloke coaches at a boxing club in Southport and I got in touch with him recently and he still has the T shirt and still won't give it me.
I bet Kenny still only weighs about 10 stone doesn't he ??

I also noticed how tall Ken was. He was also very lean for his age. If Ken was around in this era he would be a multi weight champion imo. He is ranked very highly H2H for a reason.

I'm hoping to meet Ken again one day. He must have some great stories to tell.

It ****es me off that Scotland have so called celeb boxing fans like Andy Murray who have never even once mentioned Ken Buchanan to the press. Murray is an arm chair boxing fan at best.

Haha that brilliant. I wouldn't give you the tshirt either lol.
Ken has always been trim mate. A combo of natural fitness and the demon drink I suspect.

I had a few with him:pscotch he was on.
He told me he had a dance with princess horseface at the sports personality and she wanted to **** him hahahaha.
I saw one of my old trainers at xmas and been meaning to tell him about meeting Ken because he was a big fan of Howard Winstome and Eddie Thomas.

Andy Murray is the least interesting man in the UK.I'd say only Lennox Lewis is definitely better than Buchanan.
Wee Benny, Jimmy Wilde and Ted kid Lewis are probably my others in the top 5

among my Boxing Collection which I sold, was a bio of Holyfield or LL, signed by non other than Ken Buchanan... yet the Buchanan book wasn't.

it ALL belongs to Hatton now, they were going to put together a boxing library and research room in their Hyde Gym. I don't know if they ever did.

Why didn't he get the rematch? Was there any outcry given the circumstances of the first fight and Buchanan continuing to perform afterwards?

Duran beat him and was beating him, it was clear to be seen, in spite of a sorry full end to the fight.

Watch the ending to that fight again & you will see you have no need to say you are kidding The DELIBERATE low blow Duran floored Ken Bucchanon with came wayyyy after the bell sounded to end the round. You clearly hear the bell then Duran throws the foul blow When qurstioned after an embarrassed referee Johnny LoBianco stuttered " The blow was on the bell & a legitimate punch" when the film shows exactly the opposite
Lo Bianco's eye sight or his integrity needed checking I know what Ken's opinion of the blow was when in hospital in agony with his family jewels iced up. Blatant robbery & Duran would never give Ken a rematch
WTG Ken an honour well deserved

I once went out with a girl whose mum had a relationship with Eddie Thomas. Never met him though which was a shame.
