Agreed. It's a footwork fight and Buchanan has a big edge there. He'd turn Alexis in there and circle all night w/ that top conditioning of his. And use that nice jab to score points for the decision win.

Buchanon takes this via his boxing ability.

He is a survivor, and has enough ability to get away from the slower Alexis. Duran could not finish Ken and he was perhaps the greatest of all time in that division.

Alexis has to sit down on his punches, Kenny will keep him off balance.

Wish I could give this post a "Love" instead of just a "Like".....
As much as I love Arguello, Buchanan would have made him wish he were fighting Vilomar Fernandez instead....the Scot would have boxed, jabbed, moved and scored all night long.

Ken didn't give you an inch in the ring, he's basically the modern day standard of what a boxer should do to, well, effectively box! He was a consummate skilled boxer with hardly a flaw to be seen in his style. He was a savant in there, to say the least.

I would favor Buchanen slightly, as others have said his style would work well against Alexis

    Bump.
Great match up, both exquisite technicians. Buchanan had so much guile and toughness that I can’t see Arguello KOing him. Arguello always had issues with boxers with quicker feet and Buchanan was no exception. I might actually favor Buchanan to beat Arguello very slightly in a great chess match.

Another one I wouldn't want to bet on but, if forced to wager, I'd probably opt for Arguello.

Best-for-Best, Arguello just has that little extra, over Buchanan, in my opinion.
