A match up I would love to see . Could Chavez batter down the defense of Kenny ?
Or is Buchanan a step above him ?
15 rounds , light weight of course .

    Nice post,Fergie !

Buchanan was a brilliant boxer but I envisage this one going just as Tramell sees it - Chavez utilising that brutal attack downstairs to steer him to victory. Early rounds would be competitive with Kenny taking quite a few of them.

Buchanan maybe ahead after the first half of the fight but after that Chavez would take over and win a close but clear UD.

kenny gives him all he wants with his superior boxing. However he cant help getting involved in a firefight when it comes down to it. Could JCC stop him late? Possibly . Could Ken win on points? most definitely capable. Im split on this to be honest. On any given day i could plump for either. Gun to my head, both on their best night and all things being equal with judges and location, ken on points

Ken was an excellent fighter. But, I think JCC would prove a bridge too far. JCC on ponts or a late stopage (like the Rosario fight) . The Chavez of the Rosario fight was a BEAST that wouldn't be denied.

Probably Chavez catches up to him and wins the late rounds big. Over 6 rounds, I might pick Ken.

If they fought twice a year for ten years, JCC wins 17-3 or something. Hugely more consistent. But Ken might have had the tools to squeeze the odd win, on his best nights, now and again. I can't envisage it though. I grew up watching Chavez walk fighters down like they had pea shooters and he was awe-inspiring. I haven't seen much of Kenny tbh so am going with what people say when I even give him the odd win against the Chavez of the mid-late 80s, early 90s. He was a bona fide all-time British great. But Chavez is a bona fide Mexican ATG. It;s another level.

    And I'm British!

I like Buchanan in this one. Neither of these fighters are going anywhere. This is going 15 rounds and I see Ken using the ring to his advantage in this. Ken on points over 15.

I know what you mean Edd , about Chavez just walking through his opponents . They just COULDN'T stop him . And his Amazing record up to being defeated by Randall !
But I will say this about Kenny ,If anyone could really test Julio at Light weight ,it's him at his best .

Kenny was brilliant but not as fast as Camacho and speed didn't help Hector who eventually had to endure fighting in close with Julio. Ken wasn't as strong physically as Hector either and I just can't see him lasting to the last bell.
