    I think he did have a legit eye injury for the fight, you can see it from the way he marks up so quickly from little punishment and his timing is thoroughly off from the start because of it.

    If it was a deliberate sparring set up is another matter though.

    Should have postponed or called off the fight, really.

    It was a short hard right hand to the button while he and Ken traded after the bell. Though he took some huge right hands along the way he was giving his all through the finish. No indication Ken looked for or wanted a way out.

    Yeah, i'm not disputing that he had an eye injury, i'm just saying that Ken has an axe to grind and the sparring partner out to get him isn't particularly something I can believe without qualm. But what you say about the fight getting called of is right - this is why I don't believe that Ishimatsu's management would try to sabotage him.

    Ken didn't have anyone to step up and fight his corner, in organising his hotel, his training facilities, his sparring partners, cancelling the fight or anything else. Nor did he have anyone to pursue a Duran rematch for him. He was extremely passive as his own manager, but angry with it. It's a horrible combination. He had a manager who made mistakes, but who I rate, and he ditched him then didn't replace him. He should have replaced him. Buchanan cheated himself.

    While we're on the subject of Ishimatsu has anyone seen his fight with Lionel Rose or know anything about it?

    I thought Buchanan won it, but it was a horrible fight that quite frankly is the worse world title fight I have seen. It was close, I thought a draw would have sat better though.

    Suzuki was an annoying fighter.He had some good tools and a tricky style, but fought scared so often.When he let his hands go he could produce some good stuff.I'd put him in a similar rough category as Bugner, Angel Espada, Juan Laporte etc

    This performance, Gonzalez rematch, Duran and especially the gutless Muangsurin challenge were all nervous displays for the most part.

    He was in the right place at the right time to take advantage of better fighters problems and declining ability.
