He had faster handspeed, yes, no doubt. Overall he wasn't as quick a fighter IMO, but the explosion he's always capable of generating with his hands is one of his most impressive attributes.

Speed kills in many ways and Mosley, with that speed, could ****in' coldcock you out of nowhere.

Don't know, maybe it's ABC logic but if he could do what he did at 147 and on top of that do things like spark durable fighters like Mayorga with one punch in the 12, I can't imagine how he couldn't hit harder then Duran at LW.

1 thing about Margarito is his chin isn't overrated. Cintron has weak skills but 1 thing he can do is knock down houses with his power. Cotto backed up everyone Mosley included, Margarito laughed his shots off. And it did take a blizzard of Mosley's shots to finally put Margarito away and he still wasn't completely out

Mosley and Duran are different types of punchers. Mosleys are reliant on more explosive muscle fibre, he can wing his shots a bit though, Durans are better timed, sharper and better technically.

Mayorga's durability has visibly deteriorated since the pasting Tito gave him. Fighters like he and Margarito will always lose to a guy like Mosley anyway, whose handspeed and combination punching is just too much to handle for guys with open chins to absorb repeatedly. I think it was more the repetition of punishment Margarito absorbed from Mosley that broke him down anyway. Nothing I couldn't see Duran doing, who was also able to break down and stop durable fighters like Cuevas.

I don't think he had a bad chin or anything. On the contrary, I think he had a very strong chin, but it wasn't the ATG chin everyone was making it out to be. People were making him out to be indestructible. I never thought as highly of his durability as a guy like Mayorga's even.

Don't know about that, Mosley hurt him to the body, badly, seconds into the fight.

I myself was pretty impressed Duran dropped Barkley. Iran took some bombs from Hearns and others at various times. What you are saying, is that Mosely will drop Barks at least once and probably stop him?

    On topic, Buchanan PTS.

Mosley didn't hit as hard as Duran at LW. Who did he beat there, Philip Holiday??? :rofl

IMO, Hearns' most lethal shots against Barkley were the shots downstairs. Iran's face was busted up badly as well it must be said.

As I've already said, we could debate all day about power, precision etc, but the point is that saying the difference in power at lw between Mosley and Duran is "massive" is a gross exaggeration. Duran had excellent power at lw, so for the gap to be massive Mosley would need to be superhumanly one-punching everything in his path and hitting as hard as a mw.

If memory serves me correct didn't Mosley stuggle with Manuel Gomez before lowering the boom in round 11?

Pretty much every fighter has fights that can be picked out as such.

I wish I could give a detailed analysis myself, but I'm just gonna sit on the fence for this one. It'd be a f'in war, I'll tell you that. Perhaps Mosleys size would carry the day.

it was he was allowed to have gatti- gamache like advantages over his opponets... he'd come in at 154-160 while his opp would weigh approx 140 145 ..assumeing they blew up after weigh in
