Ken was cheated out of the world title, he would have been up there with Hagler, Hearns and Leonard. Duran avoided the rematch.

ima huge ken fan but thats ridculous Duran was winning that fight Ken hd no chance of winning but Duran should have been DQd but given a rematch where he would have won a clear 15 UD

Duran did avoid him but more for money reasons than being scared of losing too him and as for being as good as hagler hearns and leonard hes a league below mate

dont get me wrong hes a top 15 LW of all time IMO but hearns, leonard, hagler and duran were special, real special and Ken although being excellant was just that bit below, no shame in that though

With day before weigh-ins, it's unlikely that Buchanan would be fighting at lightweight, making this entire scenario irrelevant.

With same day weigh-ins, Buchanan's jab I think would be enough to keep Mosley out of the running. I also wouldn't underestimate Buchanan's workrate and his ability to reduce that of his opponent. Buchanan would decision Mosley, although Shane (who is one of my favourite modern boxers) would make it a very close affair.

I think that Duran got a lucky early night after a tough fight and saw no reason to jump into the fire unless he had to. He was never going to have an easier night against Buchanan than that night and I don't think Duran was overly keen on going through that again either. It was easier for Duran to fight against lesser lightweights and in non-title matches against no-hopers, though eventually of course he ended up colliding with De Jesus.

mosley is one of my favourites among modern boxers.

I think a league below is pretty generous actually, and to say he was cheated out of the title is laughable. He was cheated out of surviving the full 15 rounds, where he'd have lost a very wide decision.
