Great matchup. Not sure who wins. Maybe Canzoneri by close decision.

Different levels of fighters if we go by resume. Canzoneri is a legit ATG p4p top 25 or something. Buchanan maybe cracks the top 100 I don´t know.
    Buchanan could box.
I need to rewatch his fights with Laguna, can´t remember them at all.

First thought is Canzoneri by UD, not confidently at all though. You can't overlook a guy who can box like Ken.

Canzoneri was a truly great fighter, who will probably beat Buchanan on points. Ken was tough as nails, and no way can I see Canzo stopping him inside the distance.

When one looks at this or any matchup, one has to look at the whole chess board. Canzoneri was stopped once in 175 fights in his final bout by a young wrecking ball in Bummy Davis. Buchanan was stopped once in 69 bouts by a blow to the nads in the 13th round against arguably the greatest lightweight of all time. So its pretty clear, this bout is going 15 rounds. No one is going anywhere. One also has to remember that Canzoneri started out as a bantamweight and saw significant success at that weight and featherweight. He was smaller than Buchanan, who would enjoy height and reach over Tony. Tony was one of those fighters who could box the punchers and punch the boxers, which is likely how this fight would unfold with Buchanan doing what he does best, utilizing that machine-gun like jab and using the ring around the charging Canzoneri who would be hard-pressed to slug with any success but would never stop trying. I feel we would be looking at a tough 15 round decision with Buchanan the victor.

Canzoneri is a horrible style for Buchanan, I would pick Canzoneri by maybe some sort of TKO, like a badly closed eye, corner stoppage, Ken is pinning down nobody with that jab and I can't see him surrendering so he'd come inside and tried to do what guys like Berg and Mandell were able to do, neutralise the feints and vapours and outfight him. But he'd get countered to death in there. You could give him three pops at it and he'd lose every one IMO.

Dude, wow! You've just described a fighter I've never seen. "Ken is pinning down nobody with that jab." Really? Like he never did that his entire career? Against a 5'4" fighter he couldn't control him with that steady jab and footwork? Also, "he'd come inside" Again, really? Like Joe Frazier maybe? Can't say I ever saw Ken fighting that way. Also, "badly closed eye and corner stoppage." Never really saw that either. Saw him get his eyes marked up a bit by Laguna and Duran but that's all. Canzoneri on the other hand, had eyes that would swell horribly as well as cut. But to be fair to Tony, that was in part to a very long career. Prime for prime, I see this going 15. Canzoneri was never a pressure fighter like Duran and I see Buchanan controlling that ring and finding the shorter Tony on the end of that beautiful jab.
