Ken Hershman joins HBO

    Will be leaving showtime at the end of the year and joining HBO. Can only be a good thing for the sport.

    Put some meat on that bone mate.
    Showtime split their Friday/Sat night duties with MMA and the more fights that are produced by the Showtime team rather than HBO, the better imo. Can he poach them all??
    Also if this has a negative effect on the excellent Friday night ShoBox, I'll not be chuffed.

    President isn't he?

    I'm on the fence for the moment, hopefully it doesn't have too drastic a negative effect on Showtime as it may seem on the face of it.

    Good for HBO but if they end up crushing Showtime and have no competition, I can't see that being good long term.

    Major swoop I think. Super 6 was his brain child I thought. Those sort of ideas may do good for HBO.

    While the Super 6 was a great idea and he seems an innovator Im a bit wary of him with a big budget. His biggest ( I think ) financial output at showtime was on a fighter who I personally dont feel is that gfreat or entertaining in Bute.

    If it means Al Haymon fighters stop getting millions to fight bums and there's no more ''Bradley/Alexander'' kinda episodes then it's great for boxing in America.

    Showtime will survive I'm sure.

    A lot of people (including me) enjoy watching Bute. And that was to secure a follow-up to the S6 more than anything else.

    He's a fight man, which is the main point, and will surely pick better fights than Kerry Davis or Ross Greenburg.

    I think this was the big story that Kevin Iole was talking about earlier on in the week. The ******s over in the General will be disappointed to find out it weren't a Floyd vs Martinez fight :lol:

    I agree. It made perfect sense to secure Bute following the S6 and the inevitable Ward/Froch/Kessler vs Bute demand.
