WTF are you talking about? Everybody with a cell phone and a computer was talking about those Mayweather/Berto numbers the same was done to Manny about those Pacquiao/Algieri numbers.

Now that there is actually a popular white fighter he is not exempt from criticism if his promoters are boasting him as the ****in savior of boxing after MAY/PAC.

You, GGG, his other fans, K2 Promotions, and HBO will just have to eat crow and realize that Angulo sold more PPVs than Golovkin.

I don't think that requires any special tabulation.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in this day and age, it's just a matter of going to all the service providers and getting a tally from each.

A lot of these numbers that come out are estimated projections based on past tendencies. I read a good bit on this with the initial estimates of May-Pac that were up around I believe 5.5 million, rather than the 4.4 million or whatever it was it ultimately came out to be.

I forget the exact details, but the gist of it was that provider A usually accounts for 40% of total PPV buys. For Pac-Floyd, the percentages were off from what they usually are, due to the record-breaking sensation of this event, where the usual trends did not hold true (leading to the overestimated best case scenarios being off by over a million or so).

So what's the reality? Did GGG do 97k? Or did he do 150k? We'll never know for sure without an official announcement or acknowledgment coming from HBO themselves.

    My guess?

My guess is that when the early numbers come out, you can do projections based on normal trajectories from past trends. I tend to believe that the higher number being quoted by Golovkin's people - people with a vested interest in Golovkin - are using the ceiling estimate of the early projections. Meaning, 150k is probably around the absolute max it did.

As for the 97k number, we'll assume that's a lower end for argument's sake, which would likely place the "true official numbers" somewhere in between.

But unless HBO makes an official release on this, we'll never know - and since the numbers are pretty dismal as far as blockbuster PPV events go, I doubt HBO will ever care to fill the fans in on the truth of the matter.

    lol

i can only imagine what would have been said if ggg/lemieux did 300k......i mean his fans were already saying he was going to take floyds spot and he was going to be the new king

basically a bunch of losers who said "dont worry about ppv numbers and money" became big defenders of making "smart business decisions" when ggg ducked ward...

Are you aware that Ken Hershman was considered the brains behind the Super 6 during his days at Showtime? And are you also aware that, when he made the move over to HBO in early 2012, one of the very first things he did was bring Ward over from Showtime along with him?

Probably not, as your posts these past few days clearly indicate you are incapable of being even remotely objective or engaging in any type of honest debate when it comes to Ward.

May the Ward be with you!

Yep, and now he realized that it was all in vein. Ward will suck more money from HBO.

Not surprisingly, you either entirely missed the point or are deliberately being obtuse.

May the Ward be with you.
