On resume I think Norton’s greater. A win against Ali trumps Baer’s Schmeling win and are we really putting the Carnera one in there? Head to head unless he got careless and let Baer unload on him I honestly think this is a walk in the park for Norton. A huge gulf in class here and apart from landing the big one I don’t see what Baer brings to the table that troubles Norton.
I narrowly selected Norton. But I can understand those who might go the other way. Baer was a true linear heavyweight champion who beat quite a few ranked guys including two champs in Schmeling and Carnera. I guess I leaned towards Ken because the Ali win was huge along with decent victories over Young, Quarry, Clark, Bobick and Cobb. That and he retired with fewer defeats. Close call though.
I cannot deny that is a very valid point, but it would not be fair to the young ladies to deny them some KernowWarrior loving, though if Max advised me to not try my luck with a lady who he wanted himself, i would heed that advice, as not even penicillin cures a broken jaw.
Jerry Quarry would have beaten Max prime for prime, Maxie clowned too much , should have been the fourth stooge, Norton in his real prime was a top 70's hw and thats saying something. Norton could also hit, I'm going with a fifth or sixth round stoppage. Max 's home run right hand is his only chance in this one, Norton's jab was also quick, hard, accurate, and first rate.
