Are you implying that Norton was better than Holyfield? Norton was 1/2" taller than Holyfield, had a 2" longer reach, and they were very close in weight. Holyfield had the thicker neck (20") and a much better chin. They both had good stamina. Holyfield was the better overall fighter and the better puncher IMO. I also think that Holyfield was the stronger of the two. Speed? I'll go with Holyfield again. Footwork? Holyfield.

I could see Bowe winning a decision but most likely he'd break Norton down and stop him late. Sounds liek you are underrating Bowe to me. I never cared for the man, but he could fight.

I really like Norton and I think he gets disrespected a lot but this is what my gut is telling me.

 

I think that Bowe would be able to land the uppercut on Norton; Kenny's style seems to make him vulnerable to that punch. In that case Bowe wins, which I think is the most likely outcome.
But Norton could very well come out and land his jab early, start out-jabbing Bowe. In that case he will soon be landing that odd looking right hand he threw. If that happens, Norton could very well win a decision.

 

Terrible matchup for Norton. Pretty much Bowe vs. a lesser-in-every-way version of Holyfield.

 

Rid**** Bowe is one of the harder fighters to match against great fighters of other eras, simply because he fought so few quality fighters of his own era besides Holyfield, so there is little to go on on how he'd do against other types of great fighters.

 

Not sure where you get that Norton is a lesser version of Holyfield, two completely different styles. Not even really that similar physically.

Rid**** Bowe never really fought anyone like Norton so its hard to judge.

 

This would be fought on the inside. Norton is quicker than Bowe so would be able to land at will in close.

However Bowe hits too hard so when he lands on Norton, Norton will crumble.

 

That was just a superficial comparison between two naturally small but bulked up 6'3ish fighters who had technical skills but liked to slug and mix things up. I don't see any obvious area where he presents more of a problem for Bowe than Holyfield did (other than his jab) and I see several that would make him a lesser adversary.

 

It depends on Bowe's shape and focus. The OP gave the date of 1992, so we have to assume it was good.

It would be interesting, as I think Norton's jab, right and body punching could get to Bowe.

I'd pick Bowe 65/35

 

Bowie at his best would KO Norton within 7 rounds. Holy felt Bowe was a very heavy handed puncher stating every time he was hit by Bowe he felt it to the bone. Norton gets beat up and stopped. Less than prime Bowe it's a different story and Bowes prime was short.

 

Norton would do well until Bowe lands his big shots, then Ken gets knocked out

 

Good point. Bowe had a short "prime" career wise, consisting of the 3 Holyfield fights.
