Kenny Norton at his 1973 battle of the broken jaw best against.. Max Schmeling (first Louis ft) Tim Witherspoon (Holmes ft) Archie Moore (Nino Valdes ft) Oliver Mccall (first Lewis ft) Tony Tucker (Douglas ft) Ray Mercer (Morrison ft) Jersey Joe Walcott (first Louis ft) 12 rounds??
I agree that Walcott s a tricky one, in more ways than one. Could he come straight out in the first and nail Norton, he had that great way of being so casual yet deadly at times. Spoon s got a deadly overhand right that could take him out. But I've a feeling it would be a point s win that Tim gets rather than KO. Mercer, never know with this fellow. But it's the merciless one from the Morrison ft, he was getting out boxed I believe to begin with till he caved Tommy s head in, so I believe we get a similar situation, with Ken beating him then Ray from nowhere tagging him vicious style.
He beats them all aside from Schmeling who had the technical smarts and power to keep Norton on his heels. A later more experienced Witherspoon could do the trick as well. This green version perhaps not.
Walcott could outbox him but I wouldn't bet on it, Max Schmeling would be really interesting, I'm confident he'd nail Norton but I don't know if he had the juice to wobble Norton. I think Kenny would be favored in all these fights but it's possible he'd lose 1
