Absolutely mate and welcome back. You gotta be careful over that neck of the woods - it's safer to travel in pairs
Funny matchup because Ken had the built and Ken could press forward but only with guys who did not have the tipping point power. Tony was short and barrel bodied. Tony could be hit, he was no defensive wizard, but Tony could punch, and he could also put Ken into oblivion. If Tony hurts Ken and puts the pressure on, he could KO Norton but If Ken keeps his range, he could chop Tony up from a distance. Dangerous fight for Norton.
Agreed. Galento had a weird style. When he went to slip punches his entire upper body bent over to where he was almost touching the floor then he shot back up with a hook. Not exactly ideal skills but he did little things like that which baffled fighters
This sums up my feelings. If someone put a gun to my head I'd say Norton, but if Galento really connects with Norton and hurts him and backs him up and starts unloading on him like in a corner a la Cooney or Shavers, Norton ain't getting up like Louis did.
Awkward, less technical, unpredictable fighters with a certain measure of durability and big punch have unique qualities unto themselves - certainly not to be sneezed at. Besides Galento, Bonavena might be another poster boy for the above profiling. Two Ton was also dirty as could be - if not policed, that could put Norton off his game. If Tony was paying something like 10-1 I possibly would be inclined to put some $$$ down. Sorry Kenny, but when the odds are right, I’ve gotta bet with my head, not my heart.
