Ken norton vs David tua

One thing is for sure. Norton has to be extremely cautious, and it still doesn't guarantee his win.

Tua, as limited as he was, could catch you either in rd 1 or in rds 9-12, and he did it regularly vs good opponents.

 

I think that Tua would ko Norton early.

 

Tua by knockout, early or later.

Norton is overall the better man, but Tua is a nightmare for him. David gets him early.

 

Norton never survived a single big puncher and honestly speaking i do not rate boxers who cannot deal with big shots to the face, it automatically disqualifies them from the elite 1-5 ranking in HOF.

 

Tua gets him, its a matter of time.

 

That's how I see it.

Norton didn't fare well against big punchers.

 

Ken Norton was an intelligent man,...perhaps a bit too intelligent for his own good as a heavyweight boxer. I'm not talking strictly about ring intelligence here, though he proved to be very intelligent vs Muhammad Ali. He tended to be best vs clever fighters who didn't pack too much of a punch, but that didn't always serve him well, as in the rematch with Ali and the Jimmy Young bout.
Norton was introspective and intelligent in the manner that Floyd Patterson was, in that when matched with a massively strong, big puncher, like Foreman and Liston, respectively, they both realized that they were up against men who could hurt them, and that in all likelihood, they were going to be hurt. This would be the case with Norton vs Tua, who would have capltalized with full authority vs Norton like he did vs Ruiz and Moorer....and the result would have been the same, with an inevitable blowout of Norton, maybe as soon as the first round...maybe the second. The fiery Tua would have gone right at Norton, who would have simply frozen, IMO.

 

Tua had problems getting to Oquendo , but Norton was no mover he dragged his back foot.If you have chin issues and aren't mobile you are not hearing the last bell against Tua.
